The 36th Hong Kong Book Fair, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), is set to take place from July 15 to 21 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, running concurrently with the Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo and the World of Snacks. The three fairs are expected to bring together more than 770 exhibitors from nearly 30 countries and regions, creating a one-stop destination for culture, sports, and leisure.

This year's Book Fair adopts 'Cultural Legacy - Joyful Journeys' as its theme, aiming to inspire readers to explore heritage and innovation in modern society through reading. Jenny Koo, HKTDC Deputy Executive Director, stated: 'We hope to inspire readers to explore the heritage and innovation of traditional culture in modern society through reading. Furthermore, we invite everyone to immerse themselves in cultural and eco-tourism, and experience the beauty of culture and nature.' The fair will host over 600 cultural events both at the fairground and across the city.

As part of the HKTDC's 60th anniversary celebrations, Chairman Professor Frederick Ma will join Hong Kong artist Jane Lee and more than 100 students on the second day to create a collaborative artwork depicting Hong Kong's transformation. The 'World of Art & Culture' zone will feature the 'World in Words, A Voyage of the Heart' exhibition, showcasing over 200 books and items from around the world, making travel literature accessible.

The Book Fair includes eight seminar series, featuring renowned writers such as Liu Zhenyun, Su Tong, Bi Feiyu, and Liu Jiakun. The English and International Books Seminar Series welcomes British poet Luke Kennard and Joe Ngai from McKinsey & Company. For the first time, the ASEAN Literary Festival will be introduced, with authors like Eka Kurniawan and Clarissa Goenawan. Aerospace experts including Professor Wu Bo from Hong Kong Polytechnic University will share insights on national space missions.

The concurrent Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo offers sports experiences and edutainment activities, including the 'Fit & Fearless Challenge' by the Hong Kong Playground Association and pickleball apparel from Cyber Smart Limited. My Mini Zoo, Hong Kong's first indoor interactive animal experience space, will exhibit for the first time. The World of Snacks features over 1,300 snacks from nearly 30 countries, including local brands like Amore Hand Baked and innovative products from Do Did Dust.

A single ticket provides access to all three events, with adult tickets priced at HK$30. Special discounts include morning admission tickets at HK$10 and a '60 Book Fair Super Passes' giveaway for the HKTDC's anniversary. The fairs aim to promote reading, healthy lifestyles, and cultural exchange, offering a comprehensive summer experience for visitors.
