45Drives has announced the complete program for its 2025 Creators Summit, scheduled for September 10-12 across multiple venues in Wilmington, North Carolina. The three-day event will feature parallel enterprise and studio tracks, bringing together technology professionals, digital creators, and open-source leaders for what the company describes as a convergence of creative and technological innovation.
The summit's first day at the Skyline Center will feature distinct tracks for enterprise and studio audiences. The enterprise track includes sessions from open-source experts including Allan Jude of Klara Inc. and OpenZFS, while Mitch Hall of 45Drives will present on designing high-performing storage clusters. Wendell Wilson of Level1Techs will also speak, with an additional enterprise speaker yet to be announced. The studio track will feature Jeff from Craft Computing discussing YouTube video editing workflows, Joseph DiGiovanna presenting the NYC Timescape Project, and virtual sessions with Musora Media brands including Drumeo, Guitareo, Pianote, and Singeo.
Day two moves to the University of North Carolina Wilmington's Burney Center, where the enterprise track will feature Tom Lawrence of Lawrence Systems discussing when local storage becomes more advantageous than cloud solutions. Devin Vance from DRBD will present on the technology's evolution, while Wendell Wilson and Mitch Hall will collaborate on a Proxmox cluster demonstration. The studio track includes sessions with Chris Walldorf, Dan Brawley of Cucalorus Film Festival, and Nick from NGW Post discussing post-production workflows. Attendees can view the live schedule at https://www.45drives.com/creators-summit-2025-schedule/ as more speakers and locations are expected to be announced.
The summit culminates on September 12 at Cape Fear Community College with a morning livestream wrap-up on 45Drives' YouTube channel followed by the main event: the 45Studio division and product launch featuring globally renowned electronic artist deadmau5. This landmark presentation represents the intersection of creative artistry and technological infrastructure that the summit aims to highlight.
Dr. Doug Milburn, President of 45Drives, emphasized the event's purpose in bridging traditionally separate industries. The summit is designed to facilitate idea-sharing and boundary-pushing between enterprise technologists, filmmakers, musicians, and creators. Wilmington has emerged as a significant hub for these cross-industry conversations, building on the region's growing reputation as a center for both technology and creative industries.
The event's importance lies in its recognition of the increasingly blurred lines between creative content production and the technological infrastructure required to support it. As digital creation becomes more data-intensive and collaborative, the storage solutions and workflows discussed at the summit have implications for industries ranging from entertainment to enterprise IT. The participation of open-source leaders alongside creative professionals signals a shift toward more integrated approaches to technological challenges.
Registration for the 2025 Creators Summit is available at https://www.45drives.com/creators-summit/ for industry professionals, students, creators, and media. The event enjoys support from Michael Best Law as a sponsor, with community partnerships including the Skyline Center, UNCW, and Cape Fear Community College, plus additional sponsorship from storage manufacturer Seagate. The summit represents a growing trend of technology companies engaging directly with creative communities to develop solutions that address real-world workflow challenges.
