Acclaimed Chinese writer Xuemo has embarked on a comprehensive Latin American lecture tour exploring the theme of wisdom and transcendence in the age of artificial intelligence. The tour represents a significant cross-cultural exchange at a time when technological advancement raises fundamental questions about human consciousness and values.
Xuemo, recipient of both the 2025 New York City Big Book Award and the 2025 International Book Awards, will deliver his keynote address "Wisdom and Transcendence in the Age of AI" at Peru's Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola. The event marks the first anniversary of the Peruvian Chinese Language Institute and will be attended by university leadership including President Dr. Jorge Talavera and Dean of Humanities Dr. Justo Balmaceda.
The tour's importance lies in addressing one of the most pressing contemporary dilemmas: how humanity maintains its spiritual and ethical compass while navigating rapid technological transformation. Xuemo's works, translated into more than 30 languages, have gained international recognition for their profound explorations of consciousness, compassion, and the human quest for meaning.
Following his Peruvian engagement, Xuemo will travel to Argentina's Universidad Nacional de José C. Paz for a lecture titled "Wisdom Beyond the Age of AI." Hosted by UNPAZ President Dr. Darío Kusinsky, the session will feature live interpretation by Professor Xintang Sun and will be livestreamed on the university's official YouTube channel as part of their "International Week of Science, Art, and Knowledge Production."
On November 13, Xuemo returns to USIL to present his new Spanish-language book "The World Is a Reflection of the Mind," published by the Latin American Publishing Group. The Chilean leg of his tour includes a November 18 lecture at the University of Magallanes, a November 22 appearance at the Santiago International Book Fair, and a November 24 literary dialogue at GAM Bookstore in Santiago.
The tour culminates with a November 28 lecture at El Colegio de México and Xuemo's participation in the Guadalajara International Book Fair on December 4-5. This extensive itinerary demonstrates the growing international interest in conversations that bridge technological progress with spiritual and philosophical inquiry.
Xuemo recently appeared on France's MANDARIN TV program "Dialogue in Paris," where he reflected on the enduring resonance of Silk Road civilization and addressed the challenges of modern society. He emphasized that as artificial intelligence reshapes human life, humanity must cultivate new wisdom to accompany technological advancement.
"In an age of turmoil, anxiety, and uncertainty," Xuemo stated, "each of us must illuminate our own heart with love and wisdom. When every individual lights up their inner world, the whole world will shine. Humanity can rekindle the inner lamp of love and wisdom to rediscover confidence and harmony at its core." This message carries particular significance as societies worldwide grapple with the psychological and ethical implications of AI integration.
The lecture series represents an important contribution to global discourse about the human dimension of technological progress. By bringing these conversations to academic institutions and cultural venues across Latin America, Xuemo's tour facilitates international dialogue about preserving human values in an increasingly automated world.
