Alsco Uniforms has committed substantial resources to support wildfire recovery efforts across Southern California, donating $50,000 to The Salvation Army and providing essential supplies to communities impacted by devastating fires in January 2025.
The series of 17 wildfires ravaged the Los Angeles metropolitan area and San Diego County, destroying entire communities in Pacific Palisades and Altadena. The fires displaced thousands of residents, caused numerous injuries, and left widespread destruction in their wake, prompting a coordinated response from local and national organizations.
Beyond the financial donation, Alsco Uniforms has demonstrated a multifaceted approach to community support by supplying over 8,000 face masks and partnering with the Dream Center, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit, to distribute laundry detergent to affected families. These contributions aim to provide both immediate relief and support for long-term rebuilding efforts.
Bob Steiner, CEO of Alsco Uniforms, emphasized the company's deep connection to the communities they serve, stating that Southern California businesses have supported them for decades, and now they are committed to standing with these communities during a critical time of need.
The Salvation Army is utilizing the donation to provide immediate necessities such as food and shelter, while also developing long-term strategies for community recovery. The Dream Center will incorporate the donated laundry detergent into care packages for displaced families returning to rebuild their lives.
This corporate response highlights the critical role businesses can play in disaster recovery, offering not just financial support but also practical resources that can make a tangible difference in helping communities rebuild and heal after catastrophic events.
