Angkor Resources Expands Gold Exploration in Cambodia with New Trenching and Drilling Programs

By FisherVista

TL;DR

Angkor Resources Corp. advances exploration on CZ Gold and Wild Boar prospects, potentially unlocking new gold resources for strategic market advantage in Cambodia.

Angkor Resources initiates an 80-meter trenching program with sampling and assays to analyze geology and structure, following systematic exploration protocols on the CZ Gold prospect.

Angkor Resources compensates local farmers for land use and promotes cleaner energy solutions, supporting community welfare and environmental sustainability in Cambodia.

Artisanal miners previously worked a 47-meter underground incline at CZ Gold, where recent trenching revealed quartz veins with assays showing 25.6 gpt gold at Wild Boar.

Angkor Resources Expands Gold Exploration in Cambodia with New Trenching and Drilling Programs

Angkor Resources Corp. has announced additional exploration activities at its CZ Gold prospect and plans for a drilling program at the Wild Boar gold prospect, both located on the Andong Meas exploration license in Ratanakiri Province, Cambodia. The company's mineral exploration team is initiating a large trenching, sampling, assay, and analysis program at the CZ Gold prospect, which sits atop a steep hill with a 47-metre underground incline from artisanal mining activities. The trench, expected to be 80 metres long, will run perpendicular across the projected incline to surface, starting at the top of the exit area, with several weeks budgeted for completion.

The purpose of the trenching program is to determine the geology and structure of the stockwork and its wall rocks at CZ Gold. The area has seen significant artisanal activity, with the creek directly below described as 'Gold Placer-Mined Creek Draining CZ Zone' having been mined over the past rainy season and panned for 150 metres along both sides of the stream. Farmers are compensated for any loss or damage to cashew trees or other plantings during exploration activities. A visual reference of the planned trenching target area is available through The google map that indicates the planned trenching target area shown in orange.

In addition to the CZ Gold exploration, Angkor Resources is preparing to conduct a drill program at the Wild Boar gold prospect, located 3 kilometers east of the CZ target. Previous trenching and sampling at Wild Boar led to the discovery of narrow northwest trending southwest dipping quartz veins, with artisanal miners having previously mined the upper 1.5 meters of soil in the area. The company reported that trenching revealed an abundance of quartz vein float sitting on top of the weathered soil, with assays expanding the gold anomaly to 1.5 by 1.2 kilometres. Specific assay results from the quartz vein float are documented in the release Assays Returns 25.6 gpt Gold in Wild Boar Veins - Angkor Resources Corp.

This exploration advancement is significant as it represents continued investment in Cambodia's emerging mineral resource sector, with potential implications for regional economic development and the global gold supply chain. The systematic approach to exploration, including trenching to understand subsurface geology and planned drilling based on assay results, follows industry standards for resource identification. Dennis Ouellette, the company's VP Exploration and a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101, has reviewed and approved the technical disclosure. The company's work in Cambodia contributes to broader efforts to establish the country as a mineral-producing nation, complementing its energy subsidiary's oil and gas exploration activities onshore Block VIII.

The exploration activities come with standard industry cautions about forward-looking statements and the inherent uncertainties of mineral exploration, including dependence on regulatory approvals, uncertainty of sample results, timing of future exploration, and availability of financing. However, the progression from identification to trenching and planned drilling represents concrete steps in the resource evaluation process that could lead to future resource definition and potential economic benefits for stakeholders.
