Angkor Resources Reports Positive Initial Drilling at Andong Bor Copper-Gold Target in Cambodia

Angkor Resources Corp. (TSXV: ANK, OTCQB: ANKOF) has announced the completion of the initial phase of diamond drilling at its Andong Bor copper-gold target in Cambodia, with promising results that could have significant implications for the company and the region's mining sector.

The company planned a total of 2,800 meters of diamond drilling for the Andong Bor target, and the first 1,099 meters were completed in mid-July on the Thmei North target, a one-square-kilometer copper anomaly. The drilling was staged around Cambodia's seasonal weather patterns, with the initial three holes completed before the heaviest rains, and the balance of the program scheduled to follow in early 2027 once fields are dry and crops have been harvested.

“Two of the three holes drilled this year encountered good porphyry and skarn mineralization over the 400 meters each was drilled. Portions of skarn were especially well mineralized. The third hole contained a run of over 200 meters with continuous pyrite mineralization up to 20%,” said Dennis Ouellette, VP Exploration.

The second phase of drilling will consist of a minimum of 1,700 meters at the Thmei North copper-gold target over the next eight months, with subsequent holes following the same orientation as the initial ones. The holes were drilled to the east to better intersect mineralized beds, as previous drilling in 2025 showed that the main structures controlling mineralization are north-northwest striking and steeply west dipping. By drilling to the east, the company aims to maximize mineralized sedimentary rock interceptions as it drills through alternating lithologies of intrusive and sedimentary rocks.

Core from the completed drilling is being logged, photographed, and sampled, with selected intervals dispatched for assay. The results of these assays will be crucial in determining the economic viability of the deposit and guiding future exploration.

This development is important for several reasons. For Angkor Resources, it represents a significant step forward in its exploration efforts in Cambodia, a country that is relatively underexplored for minerals. The company holds two mineral exploration licenses in Cambodia through its subsidiary Angkor Gold Corp. Co., Ltd., and the Andong Bor license spans 100.28 square kilometers across Oddar Meanchey and Banteay Meanchey provinces.

For the mining industry, the discovery of promising copper-gold mineralization in Cambodia could attract further investment and interest in the region. Copper and gold are critical metals used in various industries, including electronics, construction, and renewable energy technologies.

For the local communities, the successful development of the Andong Bor project could bring economic benefits, including job creation and infrastructure improvements. The company plans to minimize crop damage and ease access to targets by scheduling drilling around the agricultural calendar.

The company is also active in oil and gas exploration in Cambodia through its subsidiary EnerCam Resources Co., Ltd., which holds an onshore license in Block VIII. This diversification positions Angkor Resources as a key player in Cambodia's resource sector.

The technical information in this release has been reviewed and approved by Dennis Ouellette, B.Sc., P.Geo., a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. The company cautions that forward-looking statements involve risks and uncertainties, and actual results may differ.
