Nonprofit organization Miracles for Mya will host its Second Annual Gala on March 8, 2025, continuing its commitment to supporting children battling cancer in Northeastern Illinois. The event represents a critical fundraising opportunity that directly impacts families experiencing pediatric cancer diagnoses.
Founded in 2018, the organization has already distributed over $160,000 in toys and financial aid, with a significant milestone achieved during the 2024 holiday season by providing over $56,000 in gifts to children undergoing cancer treatment. The upcoming gala will further this mission by generating additional resources to support affected families.
The event, taking place at Tuscany Falls Banquets in Mokena, Illinois, offers attendees an evening of entertainment, including performances by Chicago DJ Eddie V, dinner, dancing, and an open bar. Ticket prices are set at $85 per person, with opportunities to participate in raffles featuring prizes such as a $1,000 Southwest Airlines gift card, a PlayStation 5, and a Go Kart.
Established following the cancer journey of a young girl named Mya, the organization embodies resilience and community support. Mya's six-year battle with stage IV Neuroblastoma inspired her parents to create a nonprofit dedicated to bringing joy and assistance to children facing similar medical challenges.
Since its inception, Miracles for Mya has donated over 9,000 toys to children in local area hospitals, demonstrating a sustained commitment to supporting pediatric cancer patients. The organization's approach goes beyond financial assistance, focusing on maintaining hope, dignity, and moments of happiness for children during their medical treatments.
The upcoming gala represents more than a fundraising event; it serves as a powerful platform to raise awareness about pediatric cancer and showcase the transformative power of community compassion. By generating both financial resources and public attention, Miracles for Mya continues to make meaningful interventions in the lives of children and families navigating the most challenging of medical journeys.
