Blue Lagoon Resources has strategically expanded its Mining Committee by recruiting Peter Bojtos, a highly experienced mining professional with a proven track record of developing and managing mining operations worldwide. Bojtos brings an exceptional background spanning over five decades in the global mining industry, positioning the company to effectively navigate its upcoming transition to gold and silver production.
With extensive experience evaluating mining properties across nearly 80 countries and direct involvement in 30 of them, Bojtos represents a significant addition to Blue Lagoon's strategic planning team. His professional history includes participating in the financing, development, and operation of 19 mines, as well as overseeing 24 producing mines throughout his career.
The addition of Bojtos comes at a critical time for Blue Lagoon Resources, which recently received a full mining permit for its Dome Mountain Gold Project - one of only nine such permits issued in British Columbia since 2015. The company aims to commence gold production in the third quarter of 2025, with a clear focus on responsibly and efficiently advancing the project.
Blue Lagoon's Mining Committee is being deliberately constructed to provide comprehensive technical guidance, operational oversight, and strategic planning expertise. The Dome Mountain project represents a significant opportunity, featuring 15 known high-grade gold veins across a district-scale property, with less than 10% of the land package currently explored.
Company President and CEO Rana Vig emphasized the importance of assembling a team of proven industry leaders during this critical transition phase. Bojtos's deep understanding of mine development, financing, and operational management is expected to provide valuable strategic insights as Blue Lagoon moves toward becoming a gold and silver producer.
Bojtos's professional background includes leadership roles at multiple mining and exploration companies, including serving as an independent director for organizations listed in Canada, the United States, Australia, and Europe. He is currently the Chairman of Avino Silver & Gold Mines Ltd. and previously led successful mine acquisitions and restarts, including the Minto copper mine in Yukon.
The strategic recruitment of Bojtos signals Blue Lagoon's commitment to building a robust operational foundation. By leveraging his extensive global mining experience, the company aims to mitigate risks associated with transitioning from exploration to production and maximize the potential of the Dome Mountain Gold Project.
