BTCC, one of the world's longest-serving cryptocurrency exchanges, has partnered with NBA All-Star and Defensive Player of the Year Jaren Jackson Jr. to launch a major trading competition with a 500,000 USDT prize pool. The collaboration marks Jackson's new role as BTCC's global brand ambassador and represents a significant effort to merge sports fandom with cryptocurrency trading innovation.
The BTCC and Jaren Jackson Jr. Trading Competition, running from August 21 through September 21, offers participants the chance to win substantial prizes while engaging in futures trading on BTCC's platform. The competition features two main categories: 400,000 USDT allocated for futures trading volume and 100,000 USDT for profit rate performance. Participants are automatically entered into both competitions upon registration.
What makes this initiative particularly noteworthy is its community-driven prize structure. The trading volume competition's prize pool starts at 2,000 USDT but can grow up to the full 400,000 USDT based on overall community engagement and trading activity. This creates a collective incentive for participants to not only compete but also encourage broader participation. Additionally, participants who reach 100 million in USDT futures trading volume become eligible for a draw to win one of six exclusive signed jerseys from Jackson.
The competition leverages BTCC's robust trading platform, which offers perpetual futures on over 300 cryptocurrencies and spot trading on more than 200 currencies including major coins like BTC, ETH, DOGE, LTC, SOL, XRP and SHIB. The exchange provides up to 500 times leverage for major coins and up to 50 times leverage for lesser-known coins, among the highest leverage ratios in the industry according to BTCC.
BTCC's longevity in the cryptocurrency space—operating since June 2011 with over 7.04 million registered users worldwide—adds credibility to this initiative. The exchange reports zero security incidents since inception and maintained a 132% total reserve ratio for July, marking the fourth consecutive month with reserves well above 100%. For the first quarter, BTCC reported $815 billion in volume and a 71% surge in futures trading.
The partnership also highlights BTCC's copy trading feature, which allows users to mirror trades of professional traders in real-time, making cryptocurrency trading accessible to newcomers. New users receive 10,055 USDT in welcome rewards and 50 USDT loss coverage for their first copy trade, reducing initial risk exposure.
This collaboration between sports and cryptocurrency represents a growing trend of mainstream adoption through celebrity partnerships. By combining the excitement of NBA fandom with competitive trading incentives, BTCC aims to attract both cryptocurrency enthusiasts and sports fans to its platform. The competition's timing coincides with increased interest in cryptocurrency markets, providing an accessible entry point for new traders while rewarding experienced participants.
The initiative demonstrates how cryptocurrency exchanges are increasingly using gamification and celebrity endorsements to expand their user base and promote financial innovation. With Jackson's global appeal and BTCC's established platform, this competition could significantly impact cryptocurrency adoption rates among sports enthusiasts and casual investors alike.
