CARC, INC. Appoints Karla Niemeier as New Director of Development and Communications

CARC, INC. has announced the appointment of Karla Niemeier as the new Director of Development and Communications. Niemeier will be at the helm of the organization's efforts to diversify and increase funding while enhancing CARC's brand recognition. This strategic leadership change is poised to significantly impact CARC's activities and growth, especially in the realms of fundraising and public outreach.

Niemeier brings a wealth of experience to the role, having formerly served as Executive Director of Carlsbad MainStreet. She boasts over 15 years of experience in leadership positions, including seven years focused on direct fundraising. Her extensive background also includes public relations roles in workforce development, as well as public and government affairs. This diverse expertise positions Niemeier as a valuable asset to CARC as she steps into her new role.

In her new capacity, Niemeier will oversee CARC's capital campaign and major fundraising initiatives. She will also lead the organization's government and foundation grant writing and compliance efforts. Additionally, her responsibilities include developing and coordinating all marketing, communications, advertising, and public relations strategies. Enhancing social media presence, website content, and media relations will also be key areas of focus to boost CARC's visibility and brand presence.

Prior to joining CARC, Niemeier served as the public relations manager at CEHMM, another nonprofit based in Carlsbad. CEHMM is known for its programs addressing cooperative conservation, educational outreach, and job creation. Niemeier holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Integrated Studies: Education/Psychology from Abilene Christian University, further solidifying her qualifications for her new role.

Mark Schinnerer, CEO of CARC, expressed his enthusiasm about Niemeier's appointment, stating, "We are excited to welcome Karla into the CARC family. In concert with the Board of Directors and the CARC management team, she will help develop short- and long-term fundraising plans, as well as marketing and communications plans aligned with the organizational goals."
