The Carlsbad Department of Development will host the first Carlsbad Franchise Expo on October 15, 2025, at the Pecos River Village Conference Center from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM. This event represents a strategic initiative to address identified market gaps and prevent consumer dollars from leaving the local economy.
The expo connects community members interested in local investment with franchise brands and territory owners seeking expansion into one of New Mexico's fastest-growing markets. A recent leakage analysis conducted with Retail Strategies revealed significant commercial gaps where Carlsbad residents are spending money outside the community.
Jeff Campbell, Director of Marketing and Business Development, emphasized that "Carlsbad is poised to grow" and that local investors can "be part of the solution to fill in the gaps in our market." The initiative aims to keep dollars in Carlsbad while building community wealth through franchise development opportunities.
Beyond networking opportunities, the event includes two educational modules covering business startup fundamentals, franchise investment considerations, and long-term success strategies.
