Centenario Gold Reports High-Grade Copper Skarn Mineralization at Los Reyes Project in Chihuahua, Mexico

Centenario Gold Corp. (TSXV:CTG) announced on June 4, 2026, the completion of its first phase exploration program at the Los Reyes Project, a copper and gold asset located near Chihuahua, Mexico. The program identified high-grade copper mineralization in underground workings and old mine dumps, with results expected by mid-June.

The Los Reyes Project is situated 225 km south of Chihuahua City along Highway 49, near the town of Jimenez. The property consists of two mineral claims: El Rey (36.0 hectares) and El Rey 2 (9.3 hectares), both covering segments of an intrusive-sediment contact where copper-rich skarn mineralization occurs. The El Rey claim contains the most significant historical workings, including tunnels built by ASARCO in the late 1800s to early 1900s. Old government records indicate approximately 200,000 tons of Cu-Zn-Ag material were mined from Los Reyes during that period.

The exploration program included geological mapping and the collection of 58 rock samples: 7 from surface outcrops, 11 from waste dumps and shallow pits, 12 from underground at the Tuesda mine, and 28 from underground at the Jibosa mine. Samples were analyzed by ALS Chemex using fire assay for gold and acid digestion for 34 other elements. The company noted that no modern systematic sampling had been conducted on the underground workings before this program.

At El Rey, copper-rich skarn mineralization occurs sporadically for over 800 meters along the north-south trending granodiorite-limestone contact. The altered zone on surface reaches up to 120 meters in width, with the contact dipping between vertical and 75 degrees east. Mineralization includes chalcopyrite, bornite, malachite, azurite, and chalcocite within irregular, semi-tabular lenses up to 60 meters wide. Some zones mined by ASARCO reportedly exceeded 125 meters in length. The mineralized zone below the Tuesda shaft showed thicknesses up to 20 meters, while at Jibosa, thickness did not exceed 15 meters. Higher sulfide content is presumed north of the Tuesda shaft, and fragments of magnetite and skarn with magnetite and specularite suggest Cu-Au skarn-type mineralization.

The results from this sampling will provide valuable geochemical data to understand controls, distribution, and extension of mineralization. The next phase, a 1500-meter drill program targeting strike and down-dip extensions below 50 meters depth, is planned to begin in July. Key drill targets are near the Jibosa and Tuesda shafts.
