CHARBONE Corporation (TSXV: CH; OTCQB: CHHYF; FSE: K47), a vertically integrated industrial gases company, announced a long-term hydrogen supply contract with Hone Inc., a provider of mobile hydrogen power solutions for the film and television industry. The agreement, effective immediately, formalizes and extends a commercial relationship that began with CHARBONE's first hydrogen sales in Ontario in January 2026.
Under the two-year binding contract, CHARBONE will supply clean ultra-high purity (UHP) hydrogen to fuel Hone's mobile hydrogen generator systems. Hone's trailer-mounted 165 kW hydrogen ICE generators serve as a drop-in replacement for standard 1,400-amp diesel gensets used on film sets, eliminating emissions during production. Each generator day can displace more than 1.5 tonnes of CO2 compared to diesel operations. CHARBONE's hydrogen powers Hone's proprietary Fuel Block™ delivery and drop-and-swap refueling system, ensuring uninterrupted power throughout filming.
The partnership has already gained traction with a major Hollywood studio that has multiple productions filming in Toronto. That studio has utilized Hone's hydrogen generator service and CHARBONE's clean hydrogen on several occasions, validating both the technology and the supply chain. "This long-term supply agreement with Hone is a direct extension of the commercial momentum we established earlier this year, and it reflects something meaningful: the entertainment industry is not just testing hydrogen, it is integrating it into active studio production workflows," said Dave Gagnon, Chairman & CEO of CHARBONE. "Clean hydrogen is proving its value in some of the most demanding operational environments, where reliability, safety, and performance are non-negotiable."
Ry Smith, CEO of Hone, emphasized the importance of supply certainty: "Partnering with CHARBONE on a long-term basis gives Hone the supply certainty we need to confidently serve our clients across multiple Hollywood productions, and a diverse range of other industries and clients. Clean, reliable hydrogen is the foundation of our service offering, and CHARBONE's clean UHP hydrogen meets the quality and logistics standards our customers depend on."
CHARBONE did not disclose the volume, pricing, or financial terms of the agreement to maintain its competitive position. The company noted that demand for its clean UHP hydrogen continues to outpace available supply, underscoring the strategic importance of expanding its production network. Revenues from the contract will be reported in CHARBONE's consolidated quarterly financial statements.
The agreement highlights the growing role of hydrogen in decarbonizing mobile power applications. For the entertainment industry, adopting hydrogen generators reduces carbon footprints without compromising power reliability or production schedules. As more studios seek sustainable alternatives, this partnership could serve as a model for integrating clean energy into other sectors such as construction, fleet EV charging, and remote community power.
Hone Inc., based in Etobicoke, Ontario, was incubated by Change Energy, an engineering consulting firm. More information is available at www.honeinc.ca.
