Chinatown Creator Awards Inaugural Reception Draws Overflow Crowd, Honoring Influencers of Las Vegas Corridor

LAS VEGAS — The first-ever Chinatown Creator Awards, held on August 27 at COYA Living, attracted an over-capacity crowd, underscoring the growing influence of digital creators on Las Vegas' Chinatown corridor. The event, co-hosted by ChinatownVegas.com and the luxury apartment community, recognized 20 photographers, videographers, food personalities, and storytellers for their impact on the area's culture and commerce.

Jason Harris, a writer, film director, and City Cast correspondent, emceed the private reception, which brought together honorees, chefs, restaurant owners, and neighborhood partners. Honorees in attendance included @lasvegasfill, @brandonfromvegas, @wheretogovegas, @therubyontherocks, @baileyzeats, and several others, each receiving a custom plaque commemorating their contributions.

The event highlighted the significance of these creators in driving attention to a neighborhood that sees approximately 23.9 million visits annually and houses 248 verified sit-down restaurants. "It's 23.9 million visits a year - more than some countries and more than most cities - all concentrated in one neighborhood," said Joe Muscaglione, founder of ChinatownVegas.com and Chinatown Amplify. "These creators have helped the world see why."

The reception also served as a culinary showcase, with several restaurants featuring dishes that had earned MICHELIN Guide recommendations the previous night. Sparrow + Wolf, represented by Chef Brian Howard, offered a smoky, wood-fired Isaan sausage with fermented green mango, while Lamaii served a garlicky crispy prawn. Chef Steve Kestler of Aroma Latin American Cocina created a citrus-forward Chinatown Ceviche exclusively for the event, noting, "It was an honor to be part of this great community event."

Other participating restaurants included Shanghai Taste, which provided an abalone and sea cucumber meatball; Double Zero Pie & Pub, which debuted a new New York-style pizza; China Mama, serving tangy orange chicken; and Mama's House × Durango Social Club, offering rice dumplings. O.Onigiri presented a tri-pack of unagi, wagyu, and shrimp tempura, while Noodlehead passed its famous beef rolls and served shredded chicken and cold noodles. Sweet treats came from Charismatic Yo, Mochi!, Moignet Café, and Milk Bread, with beverages from The Alchemist Bar & Restaurant and wine service by Paul Ellis.

The event drew notable attendees, including rock photographer David Plastik, whose work has appeared in Rolling Stone, and legendary music publicist Mitch Schneider, who represented artists like David Bowie and Tom Petty. Schneider described the reception on Facebook as a "meaningful event" honoring creators "who've helped put Las Vegas Chinatown on the map," praising the "taste bud-awakening curated bites from Chinatown's top chefs."

Muscaglione emphasized that the honorees have done more than just post about restaurants; they have helped turn individual businesses into destinations and established the corridor as one of Las Vegas' most closely watched neighborhoods. The over-capacity attendance and broad support from the neighborhood signal a strong foundation for the future of the Chinatown Creator Awards.

ChinatownVegas.com is presenting complete coverage of the awards in a special edition of This Week in Chinatown, with both written and video episodes available. The site, founded in 2011, continues to report on the corridor's growth, while Chinatown Amplify connects businesses, creators, and media through collaborative promotion.
