Comcast has announced the appointment of Barry French as the Senior Vice President of External Affairs for its West Division, which is based in Denver, Colorado. French, a globally recognized marketing and communications executive, brings a wealth of experience in government relations and will be responsible for driving the external affairs strategy across five regions and 13 states as Comcast expands its next-generation network.

French's career is marked by his leadership of large, engaged teams across 40 countries, making him well-suited for his new role at Comcast. His professional journey includes significant tenures at Dell, United Airlines, Nokia, and the U.S. government. Most recently, French served as the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Inmarsat, where he played a crucial role in facilitating the $7.2 billion sale of the company to Viasat. During his time at Nokia, he significantly increased the brand's value, repositioned the company, and added billions of dollars to the sales pipeline.
French holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Bates College and a Master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University. He resides in Boulder, Colorado, with his wife and son and is an avid hiker and runner.
