Delivery Hero, the world’s leading local delivery platform, announced on September 10, 2026, the appointment of John Woyton to its Supervisory Board, effective September 9, 2026. Woyton succeeds Scott Ferguson, who stepped down to focus on other commitments, and will serve until the end of the Annual General Meeting 2027. He assumes all of Ferguson’s previous positions, including seats on the Audit and Strategy Committees. The appointment brings over two decades of private equity and M&A experience across technology, media, and telecommunications to the board of a company operating in around 65 countries.
Kristin Skogen Lund, Chair of the Supervisory Board, said, “We're delighted to welcome John Woyton to the Supervisory Board. His extensive experience investing in and supporting technology businesses through periods of transformation will bring valuable perspective to the Board as Delivery Hero enters its next chapter. We also extend our thanks to Scott Ferguson for his valuable contribution over the last two years and wish him all the best.”
Woyton’s career began as an investment banking analyst before he moved into private equity at The Carlyle Group. In 2008, he joined Advent International, where he spent nearly 12 years as leader of the TMT sector team and Partner, overseeing numerous investments, buyouts, and strategic transactions. From 2021 to 2024, he served as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and Managing Director at H.I.G. Capital. In 2025, he co-founded Covalent Equity Partners, a technology-focused private equity firm supporting businesses in the AI era. He holds dual US and British nationality.
Woyton commented, “Few companies have built the global scale and reach that Delivery Hero has achieved in little over a decade. It operates in a sector that continues to evolve rapidly, with significant opportunities ahead. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience across technology, investment and M&A to the Supervisory Board, and working together on what comes next.”
The appointment is significant for Delivery Hero as it reinforces the company’s strategic focus on technology-driven growth and mergers and acquisitions. With Woyton’s background in private equity and TMT, he is well-positioned to guide the company through potential investments, partnerships, or consolidations in the highly competitive delivery and quick commerce sectors. Delivery Hero has been listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since 2017 and is part of the MDAX index. The company started as a food delivery service in 2011 and now runs its own delivery platform on four continents, while also pioneering quick commerce to bring groceries and household goods to customers in under one hour. Industry analysts view the move as a signal that Delivery Hero is preparing for its next phase of expansion, possibly involving strategic acquisitions or restructuring. Woyton’s experience in supporting technology businesses through transformation aligns with the company’s need to adapt to rapid changes in consumer behavior and logistics technology. As the delivery market matures, having a board member with deep financial and operational expertise could be crucial for maintaining a competitive edge. The appointment also underscores the growing importance of AI and technology in the delivery sector, areas where Woyton has recent focus through Covalent Equity Partners.
