ESGold Corp. has achieved a critical development in its Montauban project by completing the gravity separation circuit for gold and silver recovery from historic tailings. The company successfully delivered Humphrey spiral concentrators to its Quebec site, positioning itself to process up to 1,000 tonnes of material per day.
CEO Paul Mastantuono confirmed that construction remains on schedule, with the company targeting first production by the end of 2025. This milestone represents a significant step in ESGold's strategy to implement clean mining innovations and extract economic value from previously overlooked mineral resources.
The project's design emphasizes a low-impact approach to resource recovery, reflecting growing industry trends toward sustainable mining practices. By focusing on tailings reprocessing, ESGold can potentially generate revenue while minimizing environmental disruption typically associated with traditional mining operations.
The development comes at a strategic time for the Canadian gold sector, which has recently demonstrated strength in global markets. Canada currently ranks as the fourth-largest gold-producing nation worldwide, with major companies like Barrick Gold, Kinross Gold, and B2Gold reporting robust first-quarter results in 2025.
In the coming weeks, ESGold plans to release an updated Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) and a comprehensive 3D geological model of the Montauban site. These documents will provide investors and industry analysts with deeper insights into the project's potential economic and technical viability.
The Montauban property, located 80 kilometers west of Quebec City, serves as a model for responsible resource exploration and recovery. By leveraging innovative technologies and focusing on historic tailings, ESGold demonstrates a forward-thinking approach to mineral extraction that balances economic opportunity with environmental stewardship.
