ESGold Corp. Begins 5,000-Metre Drill Program at Montauban Project to Advance Resource Estimate

ESGold Corp. (CSE: ESAU) (OTCQB: ESAUF) has commenced its 2026 surface diamond drilling program at the Montauban Project, located approximately 120 kilometres west of Québec City, Québec. The program is designed to drill about 5,000 metres across 29 proposed holes, primarily targeting the historic Montauban mine area. The company aims to validate previously identified mineralization, test continuity between historical drill holes and mineralized panels, and investigate potential extensions into insufficiently tested areas.

According to the company, the new drilling, geological, and analytical data will contribute to its evolving three-dimensional geological model. This will help determine what additional work may be required to support a current mineral resource estimate under National Instrument 43-101 (NI 43-101). ESGold cautioned that historical estimates referenced in previous technical reports should not be treated as current mineral resources or reserves.

The Montauban Project is the flagship asset of ESGold Corp., which describes itself as a fully permitted, fully funded, pre-production mining company advancing a scalable clean mining model across North and South America. The project is under construction with production anticipated in 2026. The company’s dual-track strategy focuses on generating cash flow today while pursuing discovery for tomorrow, aiming to build a platform for clean, sustainable growth and long-term shareholder value.

The initiation of this drill program is a significant step for ESGold as it seeks to upgrade the project’s resource confidence. By testing the continuity of mineralization and exploring untested areas, the company hopes to expand the known resource base. The results will be critical for the preparation of a NI 43-101 compliant resource estimate, which is a standard for public mining companies in Canada.

For investors and the mining industry, this development underscores the importance of advancing projects with historical data through modern verification and modeling techniques. The outcome of the drilling could potentially increase the project’s economic viability and attract further investment. ESGold’s progress at Montauban also highlights the ongoing activity in Quebec’s mining sector, a region known for its rich mineral potential and supportive regulatory environment.

ESGold Corp. is listed on the Canadian Securities Exchange under the ticker ESAU, on the OTCQB under ESAUF, and on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange under Z7D.
