EvenKeel Launches Fishing Apparel Designed for Real Body Types, Addressing Long-Standing Fit Issues for Women and Kids

EvenKeel has officially launched an expanded line of fishing shirts and on-the-water apparel designed specifically to address one of the most common complaints in outdoor gear: clothes that fit actual human beings. The Idaho/Florida-based brand released a new collection this season targeting women, men, and children who spend real time on real water.

For years, anglers have navigated a frustrating reality: fishing apparel tends to be designed for a narrow demographic, leaving women, kids, and anyone outside a standard athletic build scrambling for options that actually work. EvenKeel is taking direct aim at that gap with a lineup that prioritizes fit across a wider range of body types without sacrificing performance.

The collection includes UPF 50+ sun shirts engineered for breathability during extended time in the sun, where heat and UV exposure are genuine concerns. The fabrics are moisture-wicking and lightweight, built to handle a full day of fishing without turning into a soggy, sunbaked mess by noon.

“We designed this collection after spending long days on the water and hearing from hundreds of customers – especially women – who said they either had to wear boxy men's cuts or pay a premium for gear that barely held up past one wash,” said Kelsie Baldwin, Founder at EvenKeel, LLC. “That is not a niche problem. That is most of the people actually out on the water.”

The brand was built around the Women Fishing category, where they specifically designed a broader range of sizing, cut options, and colorways compared to competitors. Rather than simply shrinking down a men's design and calling it a women's shirt, EvenKeel restructured the fit patterns from scratch. The result is a line of fishing shirts that account for differences in shoulder width, torso length, and overall silhouette. Sun protection ratings remain consistent across all cuts, with UPF 50+ blocking more than 98% of UV radiation.

EvenKeel also expanded their new releases into more youth sizing, recognizing that Fishing with Kids creates logistical challenges, chief among them finding apparel that offers real UV protection without requiring a second mortgage. The youth line mirrors the adult collection in sun protection and breathability, scaled down for smaller frames. Prices start under $40 for the children's UPF sun shirts.

Across the entire new line, EvenKeel focused on three specific performance factors: UV protection, breathability in high-humidity conditions, and durability through repeated washing and wear. The brand uses a four-way stretch fabric in several core styles, allowing full range of motion during casting and paddling.

The full collection is available now through the brand's website, with most styles shipping within three to five business days. Extended sizing runs through 3XL in select styles.
