Second place went to Germany's Nevas Water, described as the "Champagne of Waters." Its medium-mineral body handled heavy gourmet appetizers, truffles, and rich seafood dishes with ease. The panel praised its velvety effervescence and ability to revive the palate.
Third place was awarded to Norway's Voss, sourced from a pristine artesian aquifer in Southern Norway. Voss is known for its ultra-low Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) count, offering a crisp, soft, and snow-like neutrality. During the dining portion, Voss acted as a flawless, transparent canvas, cleansing the mouth without interfering with intricate spices or raw textures. Its sleek cylindrical glass pillar, designed by Calvin Klein's former creative director, adds to its visual luxury.
The tasting revealed that traditional favorites like S.Pellegrino and Evian Sparkling remain historical benchmarks, while Nevas and Voss offer unique profiles for specific occasions. However, Vellamo's ability to cut through rich food textures and reset the palate between fine wines without losing its silky, alkaline character made it the supreme gastronomic champion.
