The lecture honors Dr. Ferdinand Ofodile, a distinguished Clinical Professor Emeritus from Columbia University and former Chief of Plastic Surgery at Harlem Hospital. Notably, Harlem Hospital housed the nation's first plastic and reconstructive surgery training program at a predominantly Black hospital, underscoring the lecture's historical significance.
Dr. Paris Butler, founding member of The Garnes Society, emphasized the importance of this partnership, highlighting the shared commitment to fostering a more equitable environment in medical practice.
