Golden Cariboo Buys Hixon Camp to Enable Year-Round Exploration at Quesnelle Gold Project

Golden Cariboo Resources Ltd. has completed the purchase of a 5.36-acre freehold property in Hixon, British Columbia, for $300,000 CAD, the company announced October 21, 2026. The two adjacent lots on Highway 97 will serve as a camp supporting year-round exploration and development at the company’s nearby Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property, which is located about 4 kilometers northeast of Hixon in central British Columbia.

The acquisition is a key investment in operational readiness and long-term capacity, according to the company. The camp will enable Golden Cariboo to operate 12 months a year, a distinction that President and CEO J. Frank Callaghan said sets the company apart from many peer group companies. “This acquisition will support those efforts and the Company’s focus on building upon and expanding its inaugural NI 43-101 Mineral Resource Estimate announced on September 30, 2026,” Callaghan stated.

Golden Cariboo has already mobilized its Atco 5 unit skid-mounted trailers to the camp to provide near-term accommodation and operational support infrastructure for field personnel and contractors. Water studies, permitting and engineered plans are in progress. Aqua Tech Ltd from Kelowna and Western Water Associates Ltd out of Prince George have been onsite to complete water testing and water quality analysis, including review by Northern Health. Results are pending. Either the existing water licence at the camp will be transferred to the company or a new licence may need to be applied for. Additionally, Golden Cariboo has engaged Prince George-based L&M Engineering Ltd. to complete engineering plans and permitting for either an upgraded or new septic system to support the camp, ensuring the site will be fully functional and compliant with applicable regulations.

The purchase, first announced in the company’s May 19, 2026 news release, matters because it directly supports the company’s ability to sustain drilling and trenching programs without seasonal interruption. Golden Cariboo is rediscovering the Cariboo Gold Rush through highly targeted exploration on the Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property, which is bordered by Osisko Gold Group Inc. and partly intertwined with them at the north end of the Cariboo Gold Project. The property lies along a favourable corridor adjacent to the Spanish and Eureka thrust faults over a 96,183 hectare (237,673 acre) area. Historically, over 101 placer gold creeks on the 90-kilometer trend from the Cariboo Hudson mine north to the Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property have recorded production, with successful placer mining continuing to this day.

The Quesnelle property includes the Quesnelle Quartz gold-silver deposit, discovered in 1865 and developed over a footprint of about 150m x 150m at the Main zone straddling Hixon Creek. The geological setting shows strong similarities with the Spanish Mountain gold deposit, situated 120 km southeast along the same geological trend. As a sediment-hosted vein deposit, Spanish Mountain is considered part of the epizonal orogenic subclass of gold deposits, which include some of the world’s largest deposits such as Muruntau in Uzbekistan and Bendigo in Australia.
