The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is set to open five major exhibitions from August 13 to 17 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, bringing together more than 1,850 exhibitors from over 30 countries and regions. Under the theme 'Live Well.Stay Well', the 36th Food Expo, 10th Beauty & Wellness Expo, and 12th Home Delights Expo will run from August 13 to 17, while the 4th Food Expo PRO and 17th Hong Kong International Tea Fair will take place from August 13 to 15.
The events aim to cater to the growing global interest in wellness, quality living, and holistic wellbeing. Smilely Lam, HKTDC Associate Executive Director, emphasized that Hong Kong serves as an ideal gateway for food companies to access the Chinese Mainland and global markets. For the first time, the trade fairs will feature exhibitors from all ASEAN member states, including debut participations from Brunei and Timor-Leste, alongside first-time exhibitors from Colombia and Greece. Additionally, the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China has organized delegations from multiple provinces to showcase premium agricultural products.
This year, the fairs will feature 43 group pavilions, including pavilions from Brazil, Malaysia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and various Chinese Mainland provinces. The Korea Pavilion has expanded by 40% to become the largest overseas pavilion, hosting over 130 exhibitors.
Food Expo PRO introduces a new 'Meat Zone' in response to demand for premium meat products. Highlights include Korean exhibitors offering frozen marinated barbecue that can be prepared in three minutes, and a Hong Kong brand entering the B2B market with halal-certified beef tendon balls. The 'Coffee Zone' returns with exhibitors from Yunnan, Colombia, Macao, Myanmar, Thailand, and the United States. The 'Food Science and Technology Zone' will showcase alternative foods and intelligent food-service robots, highlighting automation and AI in dining solutions.
For the first time, Food Expo PRO will include pet food products, with a Hong Kong exhibitor using patented packaging to preserve meat nutrition without preservatives or cold-chain logistics. The halal food and beverage label returns for the third year, with over 130 exhibitors from various markets, and a networking reception will connect halal exhibitors and buyers on August 14.
The Hong Kong International Tea Fair will display rare teas, including a naturally mutated purple bud pu'er from Yunnan, white tea from Laos, Kenyan tea, and Ceylon tea from Sri Lanka. Debuts include the Chinese Mainland Matcha Pavilion from Guizhou and Zhejiang, and the Yixing Zisha Teaware Pavilion. The new 'Tea Lifestyle' zone will feature sparkling tea, tea-based cocktails, and tea meditation experiences. The Hong Kong International Tea Culture Forum will explore internationalization of Chinese tea brands.
The fairs will feature five themed days: 'Happy Eat Happy Life', 'The World in Blink', 'Coffee or Tea?', 'Stay Fresh, Stay Ahead', and 'Let's Chill'. These days will include celebrity chef demonstrations, health seminars, and wellness workshops.
The 36th Food Expo will showcase global gourmet delights, including pandan chiffon cakes from Singapore, artisanal doughnuts from Thailand, and products from 16 Chinese provinces. A new Dessert and Gelato Theme will feature low-fat gelato made with patented mushroom extract from Hong Kong Polytechnic University and innovative ice cream flavors. The Gourmet Zone celebrates its 15th edition with 15 celebrity chefs and a commemorative recipe book.
The Beauty & Wellness Expo introduces the 'Stay Relax' zone with red-light therapy capsules and medicated wellness balms, alongside the 'Scentsation' zone featuring the Xuelei Fragrance Museum. The Home Delights Expo focuses on quality sleep and smart living, with the Sleep Health Association launching 'Go Sleep Exp' and HKT offering discounts on smart home appliances.
The International Conference of the Modernization of Chinese Medicine and Health Products (ICMCM) will be held from August 13 to 15, focusing on regulatory policies and global pathways. It will feature over 30 speakers from various countries and offer continuing education credits for registered Chinese medicine practitioners.
To celebrate HKTDC's 60th anniversary, special promotions include free admission before noon for visitors with official leaflets (limited to 600 per day), '6'-themed offers, and daily lucky draws with prizes worth over HK$1 million.
