The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is staging four major technology fairs this autumn, bringing together over 6,200 exhibitors from 27 countries and regions. The events will showcase innovative products and solutions across electronics and lighting sectors, with particular focus on artificial intelligence, robotics, and smart city technologies that align with Hong Kong's policy direction toward technological innovation.
The Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and electronicAsia will run concurrently from 13 to 16 October at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, followed by the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) from 27 to 30 October at the same venue, and the Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo from 28 to 31 October at AsiaWorld-Expo. Sophia Chong, Acting Executive Director of the HKTDC, emphasized that these events facilitate cross-industry exchange and support the development of smart cities while reinforcing Hong Kong's position as an international convention hub.
The electronics fairs will feature more than 3,200 exhibitors with special focus areas including AI and robotics, the silver economy, and digital entertainment. The RoboPark event space will showcase over 30 sessions with speakers from leading robotics companies including Booster Robotics and Unitree Robotics, featuring live demonstrations of robotics applications in commercial, rehabilitation, and living settings. Emerging brands will be featured in the new RISE Avenue exhibition zone, while the Hall of Fame will bring together more than 500 world-renowned electronic brands.
Notable exhibitors include DEEP Robotics presenting the X30 Quadruped Robodog for inspection and search-and-rescue operations, and BrainCo displaying Revo2, a bionic dexterous hand that can be used as a prosthetic. PaXini Tech will showcase a humanoid robot equipped with advanced tactile sensing and AI vision. For silver economy applications, exhibitors will present smart GPS walking canes with features such as real-time tracking and emergency alert systems. The fairs will also feature an Immersive Experience zone combining virtual reality, augmented reality, and AI technologies.
The lighting fairs, running under the theme "Illuminated Designs for a Smarter Future," will feature approximately 3,000 exhibitors from more than 20 countries. The Hall of Connected Lighting will bring together about 60 top-tier brands including GRE Alpha, Foshan Electrical and Lighting, TUYA Smart, Casambi from Finland, Moorgen from Germany, Koizumi from Japan, and Signify from the Netherlands. These exhibitors will showcase award-winning designs and lighting systems used in globally renowned projects.
Several exhibitors have contributed to significant international projects, including GRE Alpha's LED drivers and light strings used at Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, Nicolaudie Architectural's lighting controllers for the transnational bridge connecting Venezuela and Colombia, and Casambi's control systems applied at the Sanxingdui Museum, BBC's London headquarters, and M+ Museum. The Outdoor and Tech Light Expo will feature smart city innovations including Unilumin Group's multi-functional Smart Light Pole that integrates lighting, Wi-Fi, electric vehicle charging, and environmental monitoring.
The events will include several forums and seminars, including the 10th Symposium on Innovation & Technology focusing on robotics development across land, sea, and sky. The Innovative Lighting Design Forum will explore themes including "City Design—Design City: Lighting Design Bound Up with Daily Life" and "RCEP Opportunities Shining Through Cultural Lighting Design." The fairs will adopt the EXHIBITION+ hybrid model, integrating physical participation with online platforms like the Click2Match AI-driven business matching system for extended accessibility.
