Atlanta's West End is set to welcome a unique entertainment venue as The Game Show Challenge prepares to open its doors at the Lee + White development in late 2024. This interactive experience, which allows guests to become game show contestants, will occupy a 3,889-square-foot space in Building 1000, adjacent to Monday Night Brewing and Grady's new neighborhood health center.

The Game Show Challenge's arrival at Lee + White represents a strategic move for both the venue and the development. For the game show concept, it marks its third location, following successful ventures in Columbia and Greenville, South Carolina. The expansion into Atlanta aligns with the company's ambitious goal of opening 30 locations across the Southeast over the next five years.

Josh Brickey, Managing Partner of The Game Show Challenge, expressed enthusiasm about the location, citing the area's steady flow of people and the character of the redeveloped space. The venue will feature two studios where groups of 6 to 14 contestants, with capacity for larger groups, can engage in games styled after popular TV game shows, including spin-the-wheel challenges, trivia, and word puzzles.

For Lee + White, the addition of The Game Show Challenge further diversifies its tenant mix and strengthens its position as a destination for entertainment and leisure in Atlanta. The 442,562-square-foot mixed-use development, an adaptive reuse project transforming the West End's former Warehouse row, has been steadily expanding its offerings since its acquisition by Ackerman & Co. and MDH Partners in 2019.

The development's latest phase has introduced a food hall, creative office space, new retail options, and a central gathering space called the "Great Lawn." The Game Show Challenge joins a roster of experiential concepts at Lee + White, including Atlanta Golf & Social, which recently signed a lease for a venue combining indoor golf simulators with a casual sports bar atmosphere.

Kelly Wilson, Senior Vice President of Ackerman Retail, who completed the lease on behalf of the property owners, highlighted the venue's potential to enhance visitor experiences at Lee + White. The Game Show Challenge is expected to attract visitors looking to combine dining and drinking experiences with interactive entertainment, as well as corporate groups seeking team-building activities.

The addition of The Game Show Challenge to Lee + White reflects a broader trend in retail and mixed-use developments towards incorporating experiential elements to drive foot traffic and create unique destinations. This strategy is particularly relevant in the post-pandemic era, as consumers seek out social and interactive experiences that cannot be replicated online.

Lee + White's location along the Atlanta BeltLine, with four direct entrances to the popular mixed-use trail, positions it well to capitalize on the city's growing emphasis on walkable, connected urban spaces. The development's accessibility, including proximity to the West End MARTA station and plans for a new MARTA station at nearby Murphy Crossing, further enhances its appeal as a destination for both locals and tourists.

As The Game Show Challenge prepares to join the diverse tenant mix at Lee + White, which includes breweries, eateries, and creative office spaces, it stands to contribute to the ongoing revitalization of Atlanta's West End. The venue's opening later this year will mark another milestone in the area's transformation into a vibrant, mixed-use district that blends entertainment, dining, and community spaces.
