Kinetic Dance Force (KDF), a Winter Springs dance studio, has advanced to the final round of the StarQuest Dance Competition's Viral Video of the Year contest. The studio is asking Central Florida to vote its dancers to the national title from Monday, June 22 through Sunday, June 28, 2026.
KDF earned its place in the finale after its routine won a weekly Viral Video of the Weekend title. The studio now competes against weekly winners from across the country. The nominated routine, "Rosie the Riveter," celebrates strength, resilience and female empowerment. The choreography spotlights confidence and determination in its young performers, who range in age from five to eight years old.
"This dance is about showing our dancers that they are strong, capable, and can accomplish anything they set their minds to," said KDF Owner and Artistic Director Kimmie Gehr, a Sanford native and former Radio City Rockette. "We're incredibly proud of the hard work they put into this performance, and we're hoping our community will help support them in this final round of voting."
The grand prize includes a StarQuest gift certificate for the studio to apply toward the upcoming 2027 dance season and a Dream Duffel Elite Backpack for every dancer in the routine.
Voting is open now. Community members can watch the performance and vote at https://www.kdanceforce.com/rosie.
This competition matters because it highlights the achievements of young dancers and the importance of community support for local arts programs. For the dancers, aged five to eight, participating in a national contest can boost their confidence and passion for dance. For the studio, winning would provide financial support for the upcoming season and recognition that could attract new students and opportunities in Seminole County and Central Florida. The Viral Video of the Year contest also underscores the growing influence of online platforms in showcasing performing arts, allowing routines to reach audiences far beyond the stage. For the broader dance community, KDF’s advancement demonstrates that even small studios can compete on a national level with creative and meaningful choreography.
