LaFleur Minerals has commenced a critical phase in developing its Swanson Gold Project by initiating permitting for a 100,000-tonne surface bulk sample in Quebec's Abitibi Gold Belt. The mineralized material will be processed at the company's fully permitted Beacon Gold Mill, strategically located 50 kilometers from the deposit, with potential implications for future gold production.
The proposed bulk sample represents a significant step in evaluating the economic viability of the Swanson Gold Deposit. Currently, the project hosts an indicated resource of 123,400 ounces of gold and an inferred resource of 64,500 ounces, positioning it as a promising gold exploration opportunity. By extracting and processing this substantial sample, LaFleur Minerals aims to generate crucial data to support a comprehensive scoping study.
The company's strategic approach involves generating near-term cash flow while simultaneously advancing exploration efforts. With a targeted mill restart and gold production anticipated by the end of 2025, LaFleur is positioning itself to capitalize on the deposit's potential. The Swanson Gold Project, spanning over 16,000 hectares, encompasses multiple gold and critical metal prospects previously held by other mining companies.
The project's accessibility and infrastructure provide additional advantages. A rail line running through the property offers direct access to nearby gold mills, enhancing its development potential. The fully-refurbished Beacon Gold Mill, capable of processing over 750 tonnes per day, presents opportunities not only for the Swanson project but potentially for custom milling operations with other regional gold projects.
This strategic initiative underscores LaFleur Minerals' commitment to methodical project development and value creation. By conducting a detailed bulk sample analysis, the company can make informed decisions about the project's economic feasibility, resource extraction strategies, and potential long-term production prospects.
