LaFleur Minerals Inc. (CSE: LFLR) (OTCQB: LFLRF) (FSE: 3WK0) has reported additional assay results from regional drilling at its Swanson Gold Project, highlighted by a near-surface intersection of 6.05 g/t gold over 8 metres, including 14.96 g/t gold over 3 metres, in hole SW-26-124 at the historical Bartec showing. The mineralized interval lies approximately 30 metres below surface and represents the first modern drill hole completed at Bartec since 1987. Based on the shallow depth, width and grade of the intersection, LaFleur has designated Bartec, located approximately 5 km from the main Swanson Gold Deposit, as a new priority target for follow-up drilling. The result is significant because it confirms that a historical showing, dormant for decades, still hosts high-grade gold mineralization close to surface, which could be amenable to low-cost extraction methods and potentially add a new resource area to the company's development pipeline.
Regional drilling also extended gold mineralization at Jackson approximately 1,200 metres west-northwest along strike from the historical showing, with results including 27.8 g/t gold over 1 metre in hole SW-26-113 and 0.60 g/t gold over 44 metres in SW-26-117. At Jolin, hole SW-26-103 intersected nine separate mineralized zones, including 0.58 g/t gold over 19.6 metres and 1.77 g/t gold over 6.45 metres. These results demonstrate the broader potential of the Swanson Gold Project, which covers approximately 20,642 hectares (206 km2) in the Abitibi Gold Belt near Val-d'Or, Quebec. The regional program comprised 64 holes totaling 16,331 metres and forms part of LaFleur Minerals' broader 25,570.5-metre, 93-hole drilling program at Swanson. The scale of the program underscores the company's systematic approach to exploring and expanding known gold zones across its large land package.
The Swanson Gold Project is located approximately 55 kilometres north of Val-d'Or in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt, one of the world's most prolific gold-producing regions. The Val-d'Or-Malartic mining district, 50 to 75 kilometres south and southwest of Swanson, hosts several operating mines and advanced projects, including Agnico Eagle's Canadian Malartic, Goldex and LaRonde mines, Eldorado Gold's Lamaque Complex, Fresnillo's Novador project, and Cartier Resources' Chimo Mine project. Further northeast, Gold Fields is advancing the Windfall deposit, while Bonterra Resources is advancing the Barry and Gladiator deposits in the Urban-Barry gold camp. While mineralization at these properties is not necessarily indicative of mineralization at Swanson, the presence of major producers and advanced projects in the region highlights the area's prospectivity and supports LaFleur's strategy of consolidating district-scale gold assets.
LaFleur Minerals recently released the results of a positive Preliminary Economic Assessment for the Swanson Gold Project and the planned restart of the Beacon Gold Mill, which is capable of processing over 750 tonnes per day and is being considered for processing mineralized material from Swanson and for custom milling operations for other nearby gold projects. The company's mission is to advance mining projects with a focus on the PEA-stage Swanson Gold Project and the Beacon Gold Mill, which have significant potential to deliver long-term value. For investors, the latest drill results could signal resource growth potential and de-risking of the project, especially if follow-up drilling at Bartec confirms continuity of high-grade mineralization. The news also reinforces the strategic value of the company's consolidated land package along a major structural break that hosts the Swanson, Bartec, and Jolin gold targets and several others.
