Lancaster Resources Vice President of Engineering, Andrew Watson, has announced the company's upcoming exploration plans for its uranium-prospective Catley Lake and Centennial East properties in the Athabasca Basin of Saskatchewan, Canada. The properties span approximately 8,117 hectares and are strategically located adjacent to Cameco's Centennial deposit claims.
The company plans to initiate its exploration with detailed surface outcrop mapping using hyperspectral data to identify vegetation stress, which can indicate subsurface uranium. This will be supplemented by acquiring high-resolution optical imagery and purchasing corrected imagery for hyperspectral analysis.
The data from the hyperspectral imaging (HSI) will guide the prioritization and focus of follow-up field geology, geochemical sampling, and geophysics programs. These programs will target areas identified by the HSI as having positive indications for uranium. Upon completing the fieldwork and geophysics program, target locations will be pinpointed for an initial drilling program planned for the fourth quarter of 2024.
This comprehensive exploration strategy highlights Lancaster Resources' commitment to advancing its uranium prospects in the highly prospective Athabasca Basin, with the objective of uncovering significant uranium resources adjacent to known deposits.
