The 9th annual LATINAFest, the nation's largest outdoor festival celebrating Latinas in the United States, will take place on June 7, 2026, at Jesse Brewer Park in Exposition Park. This year's theme, "UNSTOPPABLE," reflects the substantial demographic and economic influence of Latinas, whose population grew by 5.6 million from 2010 to 2022, representing the largest numeric increase of any major female demographic group. As of 2024, Latinas constitute over 22.2 million women, making up 17% of all adult women in the country and standing as the fastest-growing major female ethnic group.
The festival's significance extends beyond cultural celebration to economic recognition. According to Forbes, Latina founders are starting businesses at faster rates than any other demographic group in the U.S., a trend showcased at LATINAFest with over 100 exhibitors and vendors expected. "Latinas are not a trend—we are the future of growth," said LATINAFest co-founder Bel Hernandez Castillo, emphasizing that marketing to Latinas should be viewed as a business strategy rather than merely a diversity initiative. The event is rooted in the belief that "Culture Is the New Currency," positioning it as a platform where culture, commerce, and community converge.
LATINAFest 2026 will feature a diverse program highlighting Latina achievements across various fields. Keynote speaker Loriann Serna, founder of Wife of the Party, will share insights from over 20 years of event planning. The opening ceremony includes choreographer Stephanie Stevens, recently featured in Bad Bunny's halftime show, alongside youth soccer teams. An author's panel will feature award-winning novelist Reyna Grande, presenting her latest work "Migrant Heart," and Julissa Arce, author of "My (Underground) American Dream." Additional programming includes a panel titled "Breaking the Silence," live selling experiences powered by Viva Shop, morning Mayan yoga and wellness sessions, art installations, musical performances, tequila and mezcal tastings at a cocktail garden, salsa dance lessons, and family-friendly shopping and food experiences.
The festival's growing impact is evident from its attendance of over 4,000 guests in 2025, with greater growth anticipated for 2026. It is supported by sponsors and partners including Angel City FC, Square, AARP, and the Hispanic Coalition of Small Businesses, reflecting broad institutional recognition of the Latina community's influence. Two lead-up events will build momentum: "Taste of LATINAFest" on May 16, 2026, in partnership with METRO, celebrating the opening of the D Line station at Wilshire Blvd. & Fairfax, and the "LATINAFest 5K Fun Run" on May 30, 2026, sponsored by Angel City to promote wellness and community connection.
This event matters because it underscores a significant demographic and economic shift in the United States. The rapid growth of the Latina population and their entrepreneurial activity represents a substantial consumer market and driver of innovation. For industries, engaging with this community is not just a matter of diversity but a strategic imperative for growth. For readers, particularly Latinas, the festival offers visibility, networking opportunities, and a celebration of cultural identity that can inspire further economic and social advancement. The timing of LATINAFest, one week ahead of Los Angeles hosting FIFA events, positions it as a prelude to the city's international spotlight, amplifying the global relevance of Latina contributions.
