Leel Phone and nGülam Launch Child-First Entertainment Suite

Leel Phone and nGülam have introduced Leel Entertainment, a suite of music, video, and gaming services designed specifically for children ages 4 to 14. Announced on September 1, the offering brings Leel Music, LeelTV, and Leel Game into the Leel device ecosystem, with initial access for Leel customers. This launch matters because it addresses growing concerns about how digital services are designed for children, offering an alternative to platforms that often treat younger users as an afterthought.

The partnership combines Leel's connected devices and parental controls with nGülam's experience launching and operating children's streaming services. The aim is to create entertainment around children's interests from the outset, rather than adapt a general-audience platform for younger users. This approach could set a new standard for child-focused digital products, potentially influencing how other companies design their services.

The announcement comes amid closer scrutiny of how digital services are designed for children. The European Commission's 2025 guidelines on protecting minors recommend disabling features that can contribute to excessive use, including autoplay and communication streaks. Leel Entertainment's approach centers on editorial discovery, age-appropriate content, and an advertising-free experience. By aligning with these guidelines, the service may reassure parents and regulators, while also pressuring competitors to adopt similar safeguards.

"Safer technology was only the beginning," said Natalie Antoschuk, Chief Marketing Officer at Leel Phone. "Children want a digital world that feels exciting, current, and truly theirs. With nGülam, we are bringing the devices, entertainment, and safeguards together as one experience — giving children more freedom to explore while giving parents the confidence to say yes."

Leel Music provides human-programmed stations across artists, genres, moods, and activities, with weekly editorial updates. Content selection considers both explicit lyrics and inappropriate themes. LeelTV brings together age-rated shows, movies, and short-form learning content, with human-reviewed titles, live channels, editorial collections, and offline viewing. Leel Game features non-violent games across puzzles, creativity, adventure, and strategy, without advertising, in-app purchases, open multiplayer, or stranger chat. These features directly address common parental concerns about inappropriate content and excessive screen time.

nGülam negotiated partnerships with record labels, movie studios, and game studios to bring licensed content to the services. Its proprietary technology supports screening of songs, movies, series, games, and associated artwork before publication, alongside editorial review and age-based programming. As Leel's media strategy and operating partner, nGülam leads content acquisition and rights, editorial programming, audience insight, partnerships, localization, and commercial development. The partnership connects the creative, product, and business disciplines required to operate entertainment services across markets.

"Children should not be treated as a profile inside an adult entertainment service. They are an audience in their own right, with their own tastes, rhythms, and expectations," said Adrian Janon, Partner at nGülam. "Building for them requires the same creative ambition and operating discipline as any major global streaming business — outstanding content, thoughtful curation, intuitive product design, trusted partners, and a model aligned with families rather than attention. That is what Leel Entertainment has been created to deliver."
