LiverRight and Aegle Medical Solutions, LLC have announced a strategic partnership aimed at expanding access to non-invasive liver assessment, specialist interpretation, diagnosis, and ongoing liver care for patients across the United States. The collaboration brings together Aegle Medical's advanced liver assessment technology and support services with LiverRight's national virtual liver clinic, creating a more connected pathway for healthcare organizations to move patients efficiently from liver disease identification to specialist interpretation, diagnosis, and longitudinal management.
For physicians, health systems, and independent practices, the partnership is designed to simplify the establishment or expansion of comprehensive liver disease programs. Aegle Medical provides a consultative approach to technology evaluation, implementation, clinical training, and ongoing customer support. LiverRight offers same-day interpretation services for liver elastography studies and same-week virtual access to its hepatology clinicians. LiverRight's Liververse™ referral system coordinates bloodwork, patient-reported outcomes, available imaging, diagnosis, and longitudinal disease management, further streamlining the care pathway.
The partnership addresses a critical need: a significant number of adults in the United States live with undiagnosed liver disease. By bringing advanced liver assessment into the outpatient setting and providing timely specialist interpretation, the collaboration aims to identify liver disease earlier and improve access to specialist expertise, particularly in communities where hepatology specialists may be limited.
"Aegle Medical Solutions is helping hospital systems and independent practices nationwide address the significant number of adults living with undiagnosed liver disease in the United States," said Brandon Tudor, CEO of LiverRight. "By working together, we help practices bring advanced liver assessment into the outpatient setting, provide timely specialist interpretation, and move patients into the appropriate diagnostic and care workflow with greater efficiency."
Michael McTighe, President & CEO of Aegle Medical Solutions, noted, "This strategic partnership with LiverRight represents an important step forward in our shared vision of expanding access to liver disease detection and care within the communities we serve." He added that the model can be especially valuable where access to hepatology specialists is limited, with the goal of helping providers identify liver disease earlier and improve the patient and clinician experience.
Central to the partnership is the Mindray Hepatus-Series Transient Elastography Diagnostic Ultrasound Systems, distributed exclusively in the U.S. by Aegle Medical. The Hepatus platform introduces Visualized Transient Elastography (ViTE), a next-generation technology that integrates real-time B-mode ultrasound visualization directly into the elastography examination. Unlike conventional transient elastography platforms that rely primarily on measurement data without real-time anatomical visualization, ViTE enables operators to see liver anatomy, identify the optimal measurement location, and visually guide each acquisition while obtaining quantitative liver stiffness and attenuation measurements.
This advancement combines the efficiency of transient elastography with the clinical confidence of real-time ultrasound visualization in a single examination. The Hepatus platform provides liver stiffness measurement (LSM) for fibrosis assessment and Liver UltraSound Attenuation (LiSA) for quantitative assessment of hepatic steatosis. The Hepatus 6 model further expands capabilities by combining these with diagnostic ultrasound imaging, allowing for abdominal imaging, Doppler, spleen stiffness assessment, and intestinal ultrasound, depending on configuration.
"By bringing advanced elastography, real-time ultrasound visualization, and expanded diagnostic capabilities together on a single platform, Hepatus provides healthcare organizations with an opportunity to modernize liver assessment while improving workflow efficiency and expanding the clinical utility of their investment," McTighe said.
LiverRight's hepatologists and advanced practice providers are licensed across all 50 U.S. states and support adult patients with conditions including MASLD/MASH, alcohol-associated liver disease, hepatitis B and C, primary biliary cholangitis, primary sclerosing cholangitis, autoimmune hepatitis, and liver cancer diagnosis. The strategic relationship gives health systems, GI and hepatology practices, and independent providers a scalable approach to expanding liver services under their own brand.
