A team of 40 passionate climbers from Body Routers Fitness will ascend the stairs at loanDepot park on March 9, participating in the Fight For Air Climb to support the American Lung Association's critical mission of lung disease research and prevention.
Led by Coach Ray Irizarry, the team aims to raise $10,000 and has already surpassed the halfway point in their fundraising goal. The event represents more than a physical challenge; it is a deeply personal commitment to supporting individuals struggling with respiratory conditions.
Lt. Jeanette Harrington, a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue firefighter, exemplifies the event's meaningful impact. Climbing in memory of her best friend's mother who died from emphysema, Harrington has dedicated her efforts to raising awareness and funds. Her remarkable fundraising achievements have positioned her as the Lung Association's top fundraising firefighter nationally.
The climbing event welcomes participants of all skill levels, allowing individuals to race to the top or climb at their own pace. Body Routers Fitness has consistently been a top-performing team, with members regularly placing in the top three overall positions.
Notable team members like Karina Arredondo-Irizarry, Rebecca Christina, Josue Lopez, and Veronica Camus are leading the fundraising charge. Their collective efforts underscore the team's commitment to making a tangible difference in lung health research and advocacy.
By participating in this event, Body Routers Fitness demonstrates that community engagement and physical challenge can directly contribute to critical medical research. The Fight For Air Climb serves as a powerful platform to raise awareness about lung diseases and support those affected by respiratory challenges.
