McEwen Inc. (NYSE: MUX) (TSX: MUX) announced it has filed NI 43-101 technical reports on SEDAR+ for its Grey Fox Project in Ontario and the Lookout Mountain and Windfall deposits in Nevada, supporting previously released prefeasibility and mineral resource estimates. The filings provide updated details on the company’s gold assets and underscore their potential value amid rising gold prices.
The Grey Fox technical report outlines a 15-year mine life with probable mineral reserves of 980,300 contained gold ounces. The project shows a post-tax net present value of $282 million at a $3,000-per-ounce gold price, which increases to $841 million at $4,500 gold. This sensitivity to gold prices highlights the leverage the project offers to investors if gold prices continue to climb. The report is available through the company’s SEDAR+ filings.
For the Lookout Mountain and Windfall deposits in Nevada, the technical report confirms combined indicated mineral resources of 629,800 gold ounces and inferred resources of 262,000 gold ounces. Notably, most of these contained ounces occur in oxide mineralization, which is considered potentially amenable to heap-leach processing—a lower-cost extraction method that could enhance project economics. These results support previously announced project outcomes and provide a clearer picture of the company’s Nevada assets.
The significance of these filings extends beyond McEwen’s portfolio. The Grey Fox project is located in the Timmins district of Ontario, a prolific gold mining region, while the Nevada deposits sit on the Cortez Trend, another world-class gold belt. By advancing these projects, McEwen strengthens its position as a growing gold and silver producer with operations in the Americas. The company also holds a 46.3% interest in McEwen Copper, which owns the advanced-stage Los Azules copper project in Argentina, designed to be carbon neutral by 2038.
Chairman and Chief Owner Rob McEwen has invested over US$250 million personally and takes a salary of $1 per year, aligning his interests with shareholders. His objective is to build MUX’s profitability and share value, ultimately implementing a dividend policy. The technical reports filed now provide a foundation for future development decisions and potential financing activities.
For investors, these reports offer a transparent look at the company’s assets and their economic viability. The robust economics at Grey Fox, especially at higher gold prices, could attract interest from larger producers or joint venture partners. The Nevada deposits’ heap-leach potential adds a near-term production possibility in a mining-friendly jurisdiction. As McEwen continues to advance these projects, the company’s focus on profitability and shareholder value remains central.
