The Military Spouse Advocacy Network (MSAN) and ZeroMils have announced a strategic partnership to launch the Military Spouse Leadership Development Program Alumni Network (MSLDPAN). This collaboration aims to support the 200 military spouses who have graduated from MSAN's Military Spouse Leadership Development Program (MSLDP) by offering enhanced opportunities for leadership and community engagement. This alliance will significantly impact military families by empowering spouses to realize their full potential and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
The partnership between MSAN, a leading military family nonprofit, and ZeroMils, a social impact consulting company, evolved from an informal mentorship between their founders. The new alliance will focus on nurturing a dynamic and engaged community through the MSLDPAN. The network will provide a platform for alumni to connect, collaborate, and leverage their collective expertise to create stronger, thriving military families.
Key initiatives of the partnership include bringing together thought leaders, advocates, and mentors from various sectors to share valuable insights and guidance. This will help alumni enhance their leadership skills and achieve their goals. The partnership will also create a distinguished network of mentors from corporate, nonprofit, and government sectors to offer tailored support and advice to MSLDP alumni.
To further strengthen relationships among alumni, the partnership will organize both in-person and virtual events. These events will highlight the leadership contributions of alumni and provide ongoing opportunities for engagement and professional development. Recent feedback from a survey of MSLDP alumni indicated a strong desire for increased networking opportunities and continued professional growth. Specifically, 97% of alumni seek opportunities for in-person or online networking, 98% are interested in attending virtual workshops and webinars, and nearly 60% desire mentorship support.
MSAN and ZeroMils are committed to addressing these needs, ensuring that alumni have the resources and connections necessary to thrive as leaders and advocates within their families, local communities, and the military-connected community overall. According to Verenice Castillo, CEO of MSAN, "The knowledge, experience, and mentorship MSLDP Alumni bring will make a significant impact on their journeys, and those of their military spouse peers. Joining forces with ZeroMils will allow us to create a stronger military spouse community as we connect and thrive together!"
Kevin Schmiegel, CEO of ZeroMils, added, "This strategic partnership aligns perfectly with our goals of creating Military Thriving cultures and communities. We look forward to working even more closely with MSAN to shine a spotlight on their meaningful work, creating opportunities for military spouse changemakers to lead, excel and make a positive impact."
