The Military Spouse Advocacy Network (MSAN) is set to host its inaugural public event, 'The Mentors & Leaders Within Us,' on September 17, 2025, at the Lackland Air Force Base Gateway Club. This event, sponsored by USAA, marks a significant milestone in MSAN's efforts to foster a supportive community for military spouses across all branches of the armed services, including the Reserves and Guard, as well as Gold Star Spouses, Surviving Spouses, Caregivers, and spouses of Veterans or Retirees.
Registration for this free event is required by August 23, 2025, and can be completed at www.militaryspouseadvocacynetwork.org. The event promises a day filled with peer-to-peer mentorship, panel discussions, a resource fair, and skill-building sessions designed to empower military spouses.
Verenice Castillo, MSAN's president & CEO, emphasized the event's importance, stating, 'This in-person event is more than just a gathering—it's a foundation where military spouses can discover a supportive community, build valuable skills, receive mentorship, and unlock their leadership potential.' Jenna Saucedo-Herrera, vice president of Corporate Impact at USAA, added, 'At USAA, we're committed to supporting military spouses in their pursuit of meaningful careers. This work is a testament to our mission to serve military families.'
The event underscores the critical role of mentorship and community in addressing the unique challenges faced by military spouses. By providing access to resources and fostering connections, MSAN and USAA aim to enhance the well-being and resilience of military families, ultimately contributing to the strength and readiness of the armed forces.
