Minerva Surgical, a leading manufacturer and distributor of minimally invasive gynecologic surgical technologies, has announced the launch of the Symphion Fluid Deficit Readout. This new accessory aims to provide accurate fluid deficit volume readings during operative hysteroscopy procedures, a type of surgery requiring precise fluid management to prevent complications.
Designed for use with the existing Symphion Operative Hysteroscopy System, the Symphion Fluid Deficit Readout automatically calculates fluid deficit in real-time by measuring the weight of the saline bag throughout the procedure. These weight measurements are then converted into fluid volume readings, offering a new level of accuracy and safety in the surgical process.
Key features of the Symphion Fluid Deficit Readout include a fluid deficit accuracy within +/- 50mL, a user-friendly interface with an intuitive display, and a compact design that facilitates quick setup with the Symphion controller. These characteristics are aimed at improving both the efficiency and safety of operative hysteroscopy procedures.
Dr. Eugene Skalnyi, Chief Medical Officer at Minerva Surgical, emphasized the company's commitment to continuous innovation and enhancing patient safety. “The Symphion Operative Hysteroscopy System is designed to volumetrically limit a patient’s exposure to fluid, thereby reducing the risk of fluid absorption and overload. The addition of the Symphion Fluid Deficit Readout introduces a new layer of procedural safety, complementing the system's precision during uterine cavity tissue resection,” Dr. Skalnyi stated.
In addition to the Symphion Fluid Deficit Readout, Minerva Surgical is also launching a next-generation Fluid Management Accessory called INFINITY. Together, these additions to the Symphion product line further expand Minerva Surgical's portfolio of minimally invasive technologies, reaffirming the company's commitment to advancing gynecologic surgery and enhancing surgical outcomes.
Minerva Surgical has developed a broad range of minimally invasive solutions, particularly aimed at addressing common causes of Abnormal Uterine Bleeding (AUB) without resorting to hysterectomy. These solutions are designed to be applicable in various medical treatment settings, offering alternatives that preserve the anatomy and avoid unnecessary surgical procedures.
