Nevada Organic Phosphate (CSE: NOP; OTCQB: NOPFF; FSE: Z58) has commenced drill hole MM26-11 at its Murdock Mountain Project in Nevada, the company announced. The new hole is a 315-meter step-out along strike from MM26-10, which successfully intersected the Upper Phosphate Zone and extended the known strike of phosphate mineralization to more than 3 kilometers. This step-out drilling is designed to test mineralization continuity and refine geological understanding of the nearly flat-lying phosphate-bearing horizon within the Meade Peak Member of the Phosphoria Formation.
The commencement of MM26-11 marks another step in the company's exploration efforts at Murdock Mountain. The drill program is focused on expanding the known extent of phosphate mineralization, which could have significant implications for the project's potential scale. The fact that mineralization has already been traced over 3 kilometers suggests a sizable system, and further step-out drilling could continue to expand that footprint.
Operations experienced a brief equipment-related delay, with drilling expected to resume this week following delivery of a replacement component. Analytical results will be released when available. For investors and industry observers, the timely release of assay results will be critical in assessing the continuity and grade of the phosphate horizon.
NOP is a junior exploration company with an organic sedimentary raw rock phosphate bed, 6.6 kilometres long, in northeast Nevada. Additional applications extend the potential strike of rock phosphate to over 30 kilometres. This is believed to be the only known large-scale organic sedimentary phosphate project in North America. It is situated close to the main highway to Montello/Elko, Nevada, and near the rail head to California. The project's location offers logistical advantages, including access to transportation infrastructure that could facilitate future development.
