New Memoir 'Walk By Faith' Chronicles Journey from Paralysis to Purpose

In her new memoir, "Walk By Faith: With God as Your Compass," Debra Lee Fader shares a raw and compelling account of her life, beginning with a life-changing collapse in 2006 that left her unable to move below her neck. Misdiagnosed for years, Fader battled isolation and confusion, clinging to faith even when God seemed silent. The book, published by Citi of Books, invites readers to trust in God's unseen plan amid pain and uncertainty.

Fader's story is not just one of personal struggle but also of artistic achievement. From tap dancing as a toddler to performing on the stage of Lido de Paris in Las Vegas, her journey through musical theater, college performances, and singing gigs across the world highlights how her God-given talents and perseverance opened doors. She frames each experience as part of a greater divine design, whether navigating Hollywood glamour or small-town politics. The memoir emphasizes surrendering to God's compass as a path to fulfillment.

Beyond personal narrative, the book offers spiritual encouragement and practical tools for moving beyond trauma. Fader, a former mayor, broadcaster, and motivational speaker, connects her faith with service to others. The later chapters provide reminders that each person is born with a purpose and calls readers to rise above challenges and walk boldly in faith.

Fader's background includes a degree in music and theater from the United States International University in San Diego. She performed in "Lido de Paris" in Las Vegas and toured in various musicals across the U.S. and Canada. In Puerto Rico, she was a Featured Guest Artist on "Luis Vigoreaux Presenta" and appeared in local films. She served as Mayor of Montevideo, Minnesota, for eight consecutive years, promoting goodwill and cultural exchange. She founded Diversity-USA, a charity focused on social diversity, and became a Certified and Ordained Chaplain during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now retired, Fader performs at the Hollywood on Main stage, hosts the podcast Recipe for Kindness, and is launching initiatives like Diversity-USA.Org and ShowgirlUSA.Org. Her memoir is available through multiple retailers, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Walmart.

The release of "Walk By Faith" comes at a time when many seek meaning and resilience in the face of adversity. Fader's story underscores the importance of faith and community in overcoming life's challenges. By sharing her journey, she provides a roadmap for others grappling with trauma or seeking a deeper sense of purpose. The memoir's emphasis on divine guidance and service to others offers a counterpoint to a culture often focused on individual achievement alone.

Citi of Books, the publisher, began as a small literary boutique in New Mexico and has expanded to serve authors across the United States and Canada, emphasizing high-quality publishing services and fostering a supportive literary community. The company's mission aligns with Fader's message of empowerment and connection.
