City Pass, Inc. announced on September 10, 2026, a major update to its New York CityPASS® program, introducing a fully flexible format, two new attractions, and lower prices. The changes are designed to give travelers more control over their itineraries while maintaining the cost savings and convenience that have defined the product for nearly three decades. The news matters because it signals a broader shift in the competitive attractions market toward customization and value, potentially pressuring other bundled ticket providers to follow suit and offering consumers greater flexibility at a time when travel budgets remain a priority.
Under the new structure, travelers can choose any five attractions from a curated collection of ten premier New York experiences. The lineup now includes Edge Observation Deck & Immersive Experience and the Whitney Museum of American Art. These join the Empire State Building Observation Deck, American Museum of Natural History, Top of the Rock® Observation Deck, 9/11 Memorial & Museum, Statue of Liberty Grounds and Ellis Island Official Ferry, Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises, Intrepid Museum, and Guggenheim Museum. The flexibility means visitors are no longer locked into a fixed set of attractions, allowing them to tailor their trip to their interests.
Alongside the structural change, City Pass, Inc. reduced prices. Adult tickets drop from $164 to $149, while child tickets fall from $136 to $129. Advertised savings increase to as much as 51 percent off combined admission prices. These reductions could make New York City more accessible to budget-conscious travelers and families, potentially boosting visitation to the included attractions and the city’s tourism economy.
“These updates give travelers more control over how they experience New York,” said Megan Allen, president and CEO of City Pass, Inc. “By moving to a fully flexible format, adding new attractions and lowering the ticket price, New York CityPASS® tickets offer even greater value and make it easier than ever for visitors to build the New York experience that's right for them, whether they're drawn to breathtaking views, world-class art, iconic landmarks or cultural institutions.”
Edge Observation Deck & Immersive Experience, located at Hudson Yards, is the highest indoor and outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere, suspended more than 1,100 feet above Manhattan. It features a glass floor, angled glass walls, Skyline Seats, and 360-degree views. A recent indoor transformation added permanent installations, including NYC’s largest kaleidoscope, the Pulse infinity room with 450 glowing orbs, 260 spinning mirrors in the Reflections light show, and a canopy of giant colorful crystals in the Crystal Cave. Tao Group Hospitality provides reimagined food and beverage offerings. The Whitney Museum of American Art, in the Meatpacking District, is known for its 20th- and 21st-century American art, with works by Edward Hopper, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Andy Warhol, including Hopper’s Early Sunday Morning, O’Keeffe’s Summer Days, and Warhol’s Green Coca-Cola Bottles. It also offers outdoor terraces overlooking the Hudson River and the High Line.
Tickets remain valid for nine consecutive days from first use, and digital tickets are emailed and linked to the My CityPASS® app. The app allows users to access tickets, make and change reservations, get attraction details, directions, and entry instructions, and receive notifications, special offers, and trip-planning information.
