NOCO Distillery Expands Global Reach with Ultra-High-Proof Craft Spirits

NOCO Distillery is expanding its distribution into Wisconsin while launching internationally in Hong Kong and Switzerland, with additional global markets currently in development. This expansion accompanies a series of bold new releases ranging from cask strength bourbons to true HAZMAT-level spirits exceeding 70% ABV. The distillery marked its most successful year to date in 2025 and produces more than 30 different spirits.

All releases are offered as single barrel expressions and feature innovative barrel and multi-barrel finishing techniques. Each of these releases was distilled by NOCO Distillery, reflecting the hands-on approach the distillery applies across most of its portfolio, from distillation through aging and bottling. This method underscores a commitment to craftsmanship as the company grows.

Among the latest releases is Bourbon 4x – Second Edition, a four-times-distilled bourbon aged in a four-year seasoned oak barrel and bottled at cask strength, 64.65% ABV. Despite the proof, it shows remarkable balance and elegance, with caramelized brown sugar, vanilla, and orange peel, while clove-and-cocoa depth carries into a long finish touched by espresso and chocolate-covered orange.

NOCO has also released a Port Barrel Finished Grape Brandy, bottled at 73.9% ABV, qualifying as HAZMAT and potentially ranking among the highest-ABV brandy releases ever produced. Additionally, the distillery introduced its first HAZMAT agave spirit, TOKILYA – Don Sebastian, crafted from 100% Blue Agave, aged more than four years in new American oak barrels, and bottled at 72.5% ABV.

An upcoming release, "Sanguis Christi," is a high-rye bourbon finished in Ruby Port and Pedro Ximénez (PX) Sherry barrels and bottled at 64% ABV. These releases demonstrate the technical boundaries being tested in craft spirits. "Innovation is key, and our master distiller is pushing the boundaries of craft distilling to a whole new level," said Josh Green, Distillery Manager at NOCO Distillery.

The importance of this news lies in the dual trajectory of extreme product innovation and strategic market growth. The release of spirits at HAZMAT levels, particularly the 73.9% ABV brandy, represents a notable technical achievement in a craft sector often associated with lower-proof offerings. It challenges conventional perceptions of balance and drinkability in high-alcohol spirits.

Simultaneously, the expansion into international markets like Hong Kong and Switzerland indicates the growing global appetite for and recognition of American craft distilling. This move could pave the way for other craft producers to explore export opportunities, potentially shifting industry dynamics. For consumers, it means access to a new category of ultra-premium, high-proof spirits that prioritize both intensity and refinement. The implications are significant for the spirits industry, where innovation often drives premiumization and market differentiation. NOCO's combination of extreme proof points with complex finishing techniques sets a new benchmark for what is possible in small-batch production. Its international expansion also suggests that craft spirits are becoming a viable global commodity, not just a domestic niche. This development matters because it illustrates how craftsmanship and bold experimentation can fuel growth in a competitive market, offering consumers unprecedented choices while elevating the technical profile of an entire industry segment.
