Novogenia AG, an international healthcare company focused on human genetics and personalized products based on genetic insights, has published its issuer report for the first half of 2026, revealing a decline in overall revenue but positive growth in its core DNA analysis and personalized health segment. The company, formerly known as Darwin AG, is advancing strategic initiatives to strengthen its market position in personalized prevention and healthcare.
Consolidated revenue for H1 2026 amounted to EUR 25.7 million, down 7% from EUR 26.5 million in the prior-year period. The decline was primarily attributed to lower volumes in the pharmaceutical and medical device trading segment due to regulatory changes. However, the DNA analysis and personalized products segment posted positive revenue growth compared to the same period last year, signaling resilience in the company's core business.
Despite the revenue dip, Novogenia achieved cost savings in materials, personnel, and other operating expenses, leading to an improvement in operating profit of approximately EUR 2.7 million. Operating result (EBIT) improved by 4.1% year-on-year to EUR -4.7 million, though the prior-year period benefited from one-time effects that boosted other operating income. Consolidated net income for H1 2026 was EUR -2.1 million, compared to a positive EUR 2.0 million in the previous year, which had been supported by a significantly higher financial result.
As of June 30, 2026, Novogenia Group held cash and cash equivalents totaling EUR 39.8 million, down from EUR 71.9 million the previous year, but the company maintains a solid financial position to drive further development. CEO Dr. Daniel Wallerstorfer commented, “The financial performance in the first half of 2026 did not meet our expectations in all business areas. Thus, we have not yet been able to realize our ambitious growth plans. However, we are encouraged by the positive year-on-year development of our core business in DNA analyses and personalized health products, as well as by a significant reduction in our cost base.”
Novogenia made significant strategic progress in H1 2026, including expanding its collaboration with 10X Health Systems, launching the enhanced Methylation Test MGT Plus in the U.S. market, and advancing preparations for market launch in the Middle East with G42 in Abu Dhabi, including adapting products for Halal certification. The company also launched the Multi-Cancer Check and established a new software platform for its NovoDaily product line. Construction began on a new company site in Hallwang near Salzburg, covering more than 9,300 square meters, with completion planned for early 2028.
The renaming from Darwin AG to Novogenia AG, approved at the 2026 Annual General Meeting, was implemented in July 2026 to consolidate brand identity and strengthen visibility with customers and investors. Novogenia will engage with investors and industry stakeholders at several upcoming conferences, including the 5th Zurich Investor Day on September 29, 2026, the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit from October 20–22, 2026, the ODDO BHF Autumn Round Table on October 22, 2026, and the Deutsches Eigenkapitalforum 2026 from November 23–25, 2026.
This news is significant for investors and the healthcare industry as it highlights Novogenia's ability to navigate regulatory challenges while investing in growth areas such as personalized prevention and international expansion.
