Opawica Explorations has completed its first phase of drilling at the Bazooka Property, revealing substantial mineralization with notable X-ray fluorescence (XRF) readings and potential gold concentrations. The initial drill results suggest promising exploration prospects in the Abitibi Gold Belt region.

Canadian mineral exploration company Opawica Explorations has reported significant findings from its 2025 exploration campaign at the Bazooka Property, revealing a substantial 28-meter zone of mineralization with encouraging XRF readings. The drilling program, which completed 14 holes totaling 3,359 meters, uncovered a mineralized zone with intriguing geological characteristics and potential gold concentrations.
In drill hole OP-25-31, the company intersected a broad zone of geological interest featuring shearing, silicification, and quartz veining. The targeted zone, located between 307 and 335 meters depth, exhibited varying arsenic concentrations ranging from 1,000 parts per million (ppm) at the beginning to 200 ppm at the zone's end. Notably, a single XRF reading recorded an exceptional 92 grams per ton (g/t) of gold, suggesting potential mineral wealth.
The exploration team completed a comprehensive sampling program, with 1,384 meters of core sampled and 1,112 samples prepared for laboratory analysis. All samples have been sent to ALS Chemex lab in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, an ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accredited facility, for detailed assaying and analysis.
CEO Blake Morgan expressed enthusiasm about the initial findings, highlighting the remaining high-priority targets at both the Bazooka Property and the Arrowhead project. With approximately 7,000 meters of unexplored high-priority areas at Bazooka and 10,000 meters at Arrowhead, the company is strategically awaiting comprehensive assay results before determining the next drilling phase.
The exploration utilized X-ray fluorescence (XRF), a non-destructive analytical technique that provides preliminary insights into elemental composition. While XRF offers valuable initial readings, the company emphasizes the importance of certified assaying to accurately determine precise mineral concentrations.
The sampling methodology involved meticulous core splitting and interval selection, with samples taken at 0.5 to 1.5-meter intervals. This approach allows for precise identification of potential high-grade zones and respects geological and mineralogical boundaries.
These preliminary results represent a significant step in understanding the mineral potential of the Abitibi Gold Belt region. The exploration suggests promising geological conditions that could potentially yield substantial mineral resources, particularly gold. As the industry continues to seek new mineral deposits, Opawica's methodical approach and initial findings could attract considerable interest from geological and mining investment communities.
The comprehensive analysis of the collected samples is expected in the coming weeks, which will provide a more definitive understanding of the mineralization's extent and economic viability. Investors and industry observers are eagerly anticipating these detailed assay results to assess the full potential of the Bazooka Property.
