Opawica Explorations Unveils 10,000-Metre Drill Plan to Unlock High-Grade Gold at Arrowhead Property Adjacent to Agnico Eagle's LaRonde Complex

Opawica Explorations Inc. (TSXV: OPW) (FSE: A2PEAD) (OTCQB: OPWEF) has announced a comprehensive exploration update for its 100%-owned Arrowhead Gold Property, located in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt of Quebec. The company is set to commence a fully permitted 10,000-metre drill program targeting high-grade gold mineralization, a move that could significantly de-risk the project and potentially expand its resource base.

Arrowhead is strategically positioned immediately adjacent to properties held by Agnico Eagle Mines Limited, including the producing LaRonde Complex. Since commercial production began in 1988, the LaRonde Complex has produced more than eight million ounces of gold and remains a major operating mine. While mineralization on adjacent properties is not necessarily indicative of what exists at Arrowhead, the proximity to such a prolific operation underscores the property's potential within an established mining district.

The planned drill program is designed to systematically test 25 high-priority targets generated from one of the most comprehensive geological datasets ever assembled on the property. This dataset includes historical exploration data, modern geophysics, seismic surveys, artificial-intelligence-assisted targeting, and 3D geological modelling. Opawica believes the property has reached a critical juncture where the next phase of exploration is drilling.

Arrowhead is not a grassroots project; its exploration history spans nearly a century, beginning with prospecting around 1920. Historical work included trenching, pitting, underground workings, diamond drilling, geological mapping, and sampling of multiple mineralized structures. Early explorers reported gold values of approximately 45.05 g/t Au, and chip samples returned as high as 90.75 g/t Au over 1.0 metre. These historical results, though not independently verified by Opawica's Qualified Person, highlight the area's high-grade potential.

In 2022, Opawica conducted its inaugural modern drill program at Arrowhead, completing 4,306 metres across 14 holes. The program confirmed gold mineralization across the property, with 11 holes intersecting gold zones grading greater than 1.0 g/t Au along a one-kilometre strike length. Notable intersections included 18.7 g/t Au over 0.35 metres with 0.72% copper in hole AR-22-01, and 1.52 g/t Au over 14.8 metres in hole AR-22-04. The drilling identified two principal mineralization settings: shear zones with quartz-carbonate-tourmaline veins in mafic volcanic rocks, and mineralized felsic tuffs containing quartz-tourmaline veining.

Despite these successes, nine target zones from the 2022 program remained untested. The upcoming 10,000-metre program aims to test these and other high-priority targets, while also evaluating the continuity, extensions, and depth potential of known mineralization. The company holds drill permits covering 25 drill-pad locations, ensuring immediate readiness to mobilize.

The significance of this program extends beyond Opawica. The Abitibi Greenstone Belt is one of the world's most prolific gold regions, and the success of this drilling could provide further evidence of the area's mineral endowment. For Opawica, this represents a pivotal opportunity to demonstrate the scale of the Arrowhead system. The company's management has a strong track record in discovering and developing successful exploration projects, and the objective is to increase shareholder value through cost-effective exploration and potential partnerships.

Yvan Bussieres, P.Eng., an independent Qualified Person under National Instrument 43-101, has reviewed and approved the technical information in this release. The company cautions that forward-looking statements involve risks and uncertainties, including exploration risks, geological interpretations, permitting, and financing, but remains optimistic about the potential of Arrowhead to become a significant gold discovery.
