The Pacific Marine Expo, renowned as the West Coast's largest commercial marine trade show, is set to return to Seattle's Lumen Field Event Center from Wednesday, November 20th, through Friday, November 22nd. This year, the event promises to be more engaging than ever, thanks to the introduction of new WorkBoat West programming and an innovative partnership with Washington Maritime Blue.
According to Bob Callahan, Group Vice President of Diversified Communications, which produces the show, the inclusion of new WorkBoat Show programming and a focus on emerging technologies will make this year's Expo a must-attend event for the entire fishing and commercial marine industry. Last year's Expo attracted over 5,000 industry leaders and featured more than 30 industry speakers during the free Expo Education Program. This year's program will continue to cover essential topics such as marine safety, business management, regulatory issues, and technical advancements, providing attendees with current and crucial updates.
This year's Expo will also introduce a new segment called WorkBoat West, aimed at shipyards, vessel owner-operators, and other commercial marine stakeholders. The International WorkBoat Show, also produced by Diversified Communications, is known for bringing together commercial vessel owners, operators, builders, vendors, the military, and suppliers. By bringing a taste of this event to the West Coast, the Expo aims to connect commercial fishermen with other commercial mariners through themed sessions and discussions each day.
Innovation will be a key theme at this year's Expo, highlighted by the new partnership with Washington Maritime Blue. Based in Seattle, Washington Maritime Blue is an economic accelerator dedicated to advancing maritime business, technology, and practices that promote sustainability. The partnership will bring a Maritime Blue Pavilion to the Expo, showcasing the latest technologies and services, and offering programming on major initiatives such as sustainable maritime fuels, workforce development, green technologies, and more.
For over 50 years, Pacific Marine Expo has been a catalyst for innovation in the commercial marine industry, and this year is no exception. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the latest products, technologies, and services, learn best practices, and network with industry professionals. The Expo will also feature the popular Alaska Hall, the King County Maritime Economic Forecast Breakfast, product demonstrations, The National Fisherman Highliner Ceremony, performances by Fisher Poets, and the Coastal Challenge.
Additionally, the Expo will collaborate with Maritime High School and other regional youth training programs to offer tours of the show floor, helping students explore the diverse careers and businesses within the industry. Registration for the Pacific Marine Expo will open on July 23rd.
