Suzy Chase built a career talking about food. For years, she interviewed cookbook authors, explored the stories behind recipes, and built an audience around cooking and entertaining. Then she lost 50 pounds on a GLP-1 medication, and now she is taking that conversation in an unexpected direction.
Chase, whose podcasts have reached 8 million lifetime downloads, hosts Dinner Party on a GLP-1, a podcast about what happens after the weight comes off. In August, Apple Podcasts featured it on its front page in New Seasons.
Her pivot is notable because the GLP-1 conversation has centered on losing weight: access, side effects, and the number on the scale. Chase found that reaching goal weight raised new questions. What happens when the scale stops being the measure of success? Where do strength and recovery fit? How does identity change after a major transformation?
Those questions are the foundation of the show. Two years into maintenance, Chase answers them through her own experience, personal storytelling, and conversations with others living on GLP-1 medications.
"Everyone wants to talk about losing the weight," Chase says. "I'm interested in what happens after. Maintenance isn't the finish line. It's an entirely new chapter."
The implications extend beyond one podcast. As GLP-1 medications become more widely used, a growing population is entering maintenance, a phase that has received far less attention than weight loss itself. Chase's show arrives as that audience seeks guidance on sustaining results, preserving muscle and strength, and adjusting to a changed sense of self.
Chase's track record suggests she knows how to find an underserved conversation. In 2005 she founded The Groove Radio, the original mixtape podcast. In 2015 she launched Cookery by the Book, interviewing cookbook authors about the stories behind their recipes. In 2021 she brought the same approach to interiors with Decorating by the Book.
Every show followed the same pattern: find an underserved conversation, then build audio around it.
"I spent years talking about food through cookbooks and the people who write them," Chase says. "Now I'm talking about what happens when your relationship with food changes completely."
Dinner Party on a GLP-1 launched in May 2026. Podnews covered its Summer School series in July, and Yahoo Health has interviewed Chase twice.
"Podcasting has always given me the freedom to follow a conversation wherever it leads," Chase says. "I started with music, moved into cookbooks and interior design, and now GLP-1 maintenance. The subjects change, but the instinct is the same: find a conversation worth having and give it a place to live."
With Dinner Party on a GLP-1, Chase is betting the next chapter of the GLP-1 story isn't about how people lose weight. It's about how they live afterward.
