Puerto Rico Financial Services Forum Returns to San Juan, Expanding Its Role as a Key Caribbean Hub for Banking and Insurance Leaders

The Puerto Rico Financial Services Forum has officially opened registration for its sixth edition, scheduled for November 2–3, 2026, at the Sheraton Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan. Recognized as one of the Caribbean’s leading gatherings for international banking and insurance, the event will convene senior executives, regulators, institutional investors, insurers, compliance leaders, legal experts, and government officials from Puerto Rico, the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

This year’s program will feature high-level discussions on evolving challenges and opportunities in the financial services sector. Key topics include artificial intelligence in insurance and financial crime compliance, fintech and Banking-as-a-Service, correspondent banking, captive insurance, AML and sanctions, digital assets, regulatory and law enforcement priorities, and investment strategies. The agenda reflects the industry’s growing focus on technology and regulatory adaptation, making the forum a critical venue for stakeholders to align on best practices and forward-looking approaches.

Notable speakers include Mónica Rodríguez, Commissioner of Financial Institutions of Puerto Rico; Suzette del Valle, Commissioner of Insurance of Puerto Rico; Angelo Colombo of AIG; David White of Morgan White Group; Jeff Radke of Accelerant; and Zahira Rodríguez Gonzalvo of Popular. Legal and compliance experts such as Scott Kosnoff of Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, Stephanie L. Connor of Holland and Knight, Christian Ford of DLA Piper, and Carl Fornaris of Winston & Strawn will also contribute, alongside representatives from major financial institutions including Blue Ridge Bank, Amerant Bank, and Anchorage Digital Bank. The diverse speaker lineup underscores the forum’s role in bridging regulatory, technological, and investment perspectives.

A highlight will be the keynote address by Ignacio Gomez, an award-winning investigative journalist known for exposing corruption and financial crime across borders. His presentation is expected to offer critical insights into the evolving landscape of financial integrity and enforcement, a topic of increasing relevance for the region.

The forum is hosted by the Puerto Rico International Insurers Association (PRIIA) and the Puerto Rico International Banks Association (PRIBA). PRIIA President Hugo Cordova emphasized the event’s value, stating, “More than a conference, the Puerto Rico Financial Services Forum has established itself as a high-level networking destination where decision-makers and influential leaders connect, exchange ideas, and explore new opportunities for collaboration and growth.” Eduardo Colón, President of PRIBA, added, “The Puerto Rico Financial Services Forum continues to strengthen Puerto Rico’s position as a hub for international banks and insurers, while creating a platform for dialogue around innovation, regulation, and the future of the financial industry.”

The forum’s growth reflects Puerto Rico’s increasing significance as a financial services hub in the Caribbean. By attracting international participants and addressing cutting-edge topics, the event provides a unique opportunity for industry players to network, share insights, and forge partnerships. Sponsors and attendees will gain direct access to a highly specialized audience, enhancing brand visibility and strategic engagement within the sector.

Organizers encourage financial institutions, insurance companies, law firms, accounting firms, technology providers, and related organizations to register early, as additional speakers and sessions will be announced in the coming weeks.
