Pure Flix Familia Sponsors Second Annual Chicano Hollywood Film Festival

The Chicano Hollywood Film Festival has announced that Pure Flix Familia, the upcoming Spanish-language and bilingual streaming platform from Great American Media, will serve as an official media sponsor for its second annual event. The five-day festival, which celebrates Chicano and Latino storytelling through film screenings, industry panels, workshops, and networking, will feature Pure Flix Familia in several key roles.

As part of its participation, Pure Flix Familia will host a fireside chat titled "Faith, Family & the Future: Introducing Pure Flix Familia," led by Chicano Hollywood founder Johnny Murillo. The conversation will involve Great American Media executives discussing the platform's vision, its commitment to faith- and family-focused programming, and its plans to collaborate with Latino filmmakers and content creators on original stories and shows. The session will also address the evolving landscape of faith and family entertainment and the importance of serving Latino audiences with culturally relevant content that reflects their values and experiences.

Johnny Murillo emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating, "Pure Flix Familia's participation represents exactly the kind of meaningful industry connection we want to create through the Chicano Hollywood Film Festival. This is an opportunity for our filmmakers and creators to learn about a new platform that is actively looking to serve Latino families and collaborate with Latino storytellers."

In addition to the fireside chat, Pure Flix Familia will create a "Spill the Café Storyteller Lounge," a dedicated space for filmmakers, creators, and attendees to learn more about the platform, its upcoming launch, and its vision for working with the Latino creative community. The platform will also sponsor the festival's Community Impact Legacy Award, which will be presented during the Closing Night Awards ceremony on Sunday, August 2. This award recognizes individuals whose leadership and service strengthen families and uplift communities, with the recipient to be announced at the ceremony.

Denise Crayne, Chief Financial Officer of Great American Media, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, saying, "We are honored to join the Chicano Hollywood Film Festival and introduce Pure Flix Familia to such a dynamic community of filmmakers, creators, and entertainment leaders. Our goal is to build a welcoming home for faith- and family stories while creating meaningful opportunities for Latino storytellers to bring new voices, perspectives, and experiences to audiences."

The second annual Chicano Hollywood Film Festival will showcase more than 140 films and a wide-ranging program of panels, workshops, special events, and cultural experiences. By celebrating both pioneers and emerging voices, the festival aims to create a space where storytelling, culture, commerce, and community intersect.

Pure Flix Familia's involvement is significant as it highlights the growing demand for faith-based content tailored to Latino audiences. The platform, which is part of Great American Media's portfolio, joins other brands such as Great American Family and Great American Pure Flix. Great American Media, established in 2021, has positioned itself as a leader in faith and family entertainment, and the launch of Pure Flix Familia marks a strategic move to reach Spanish-speaking viewers with uplifting stories that reflect their faith and values.

For Latino filmmakers, this sponsorship could open doors to new distribution opportunities and collaborations, potentially reshaping the landscape of faith-based entertainment. The festival, now in its second year, continues to grow as a hub for Latino storytelling, and the participation of a major streaming platform underscores the commercial and cultural significance of this community.
