Rocky Mountain Dog today announced the launch of two new additions to its All Mountain collection: the Okanagan All Mountain Dog Leash and the Okanagan Alpine Dog Collar. Both products draw inspiration from British Columbia's Okanagan Valley, a region known for its sunny climate, rolling vineyards, and lakefront trails, as detailed in a company press release.
The design of the new products incorporates elements from the Okanagan Valley, including Okanagan Lake, vineyards and orchard farms, the historic Kettle Valley Rail Trail with its iconic trestle bridges, and the legendary lake creature Ogopogo. "The Okanagan has a unique character that you can't find anywhere else in Canada," said Rob Johnson, Founder of Rocky Mountain Dog. "It's a place where vineyards meet mountain trails, orchards stretch to the lake, and local legends become part of the landscape. We designed this collection to reflect those iconic elements while celebrating the adventures that dog owners experience throughout the region."
The Okanagan All Mountain Dog Leash is engineered for active dog owners who demand versatility and control. Key features include a zero-shock bungee section to reduce pulling strain, a neoprene-cushioned handle for comfort, a quick-grab traffic handle for close control, and integrated accessory attachment points. Built from adventure-grade, weather-resistant webbing, the leash is designed for hiking, running, and everyday walks, and is available in 6 ft (1.8 m) and 8 ft (2.4 m) lengths.
The Okanagan Alpine Dog Collar focuses on everyday reliability and outdoor durability. It features adventure-grade webbing, a secure aluminum D-ring for leash attachment, and a dedicated ID tag holder to reduce noise during movement. At 25 mm (1 in) wide, the collar offers a balanced fit suitable for a wide range of dogs, catering to those who transition seamlessly between urban environments and outdoor adventures.
The new Okanagan Leash and Collar are available for sale on Rocky Mountain Dog's website and will soon be available through their retail partners. This launch underscores the growing trend of regionally inspired pet products, tapping into the outdoor lifestyle that many dog owners embrace. By linking product design to specific landscapes and local folklore, Rocky Mountain Dog aims to foster a deeper connection between pet owners and the places they explore.
The company, based in Calgary, AB, sells online in Canada, the US, and internationally, with wholesale distribution to over 150 retailers. The Okanagan collection represents a strategic move to differentiate its products in a competitive market by leveraging storytelling and place-based branding. For dog owners in the Okanagan and beyond, these products offer not just functionality but also a way to celebrate the region's natural beauty and cultural heritage.
