Rooftop Relief Donates Free Gutter Installation to Veteran in Cincinnati

In a heartfelt gesture of gratitude, Rooftop Relief, a leading roofing contractor in Cincinnati, has completed a complimentary seamless gutter installation for local military veteran Jerry Townsley. The donation, part of the company's annual Veteran Roof & Exterior Relief Program, underscores the importance of supporting those who have served the nation.

When severe storms damaged the gutter system on Townsley's barn in Greater Cincinnati, he reached out to Rooftop Relief to inquire about a standard veteran discount for the repair work. Upon learning of Townsley's distinguished service record, co-founders Jerry Vineyard and Ryan Collins decided that a discount was insufficient. Instead, they chose to replace the barn's entire seamless gutter system at no cost.

Jerry Townsley's life is defined by decades of dedicated public and military service. A graduate of Milford High School (Class of 1961), Townsley entered military service shortly after graduation, spending four years on active duty with the United States Navy stationed aboard the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal (CVA-59). Following his naval deployment, Townsley continued his military commitment with 20 years in the United States Air Force at Rickenbacker Air Force Base. Parallel to his military career, he devoted 39 years to civil service, concluding a remarkable lifetime of contributions to community and country.

“When Mr. Townsley called us asking for a veteran discount after severe storm damage tore up his barn's gutters, Ryan and I looked at his decades of service in the Navy, Air Force, and civil service and knew right away—a discount wasn't enough. Replacing his gutters completely free of charge was the least we could do to show our gratitude,” said Jerry Vineyard.

This donation marks the latest expansion of the annual Veteran roof donation Greater Cincinnati initiative led by Rooftop Relief. Known throughout Loveland and surrounding areas as an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, Rooftop Relief has built a reputation for high-quality storm damage inspections, residential roof replacements, and seamless gutter installations.

“Our annual veteran program started with roofs, but stories like Jerry Townsley's remind us that home protection involves the complete exterior,” added co-founder Ryan Collins. “Whether it's a storm-damaged roof or seamless gutters on a barn, we want to ensure our local veterans have safe, durable structures protecting their property.”

The impact of this donation extends beyond the immediate repair. It highlights the ongoing need to support veterans in the community and encourages others to consider how they can contribute. Rooftop Relief is now inviting residents across Loveland and the Greater Cincinnati area to nominate deserving veterans for future free roofing and exterior repair projects under the annual Rooftop Relief program. Family members, neighbors, and community organizations can submit nominations directly through the company's website.

As a company dedicated to honest craftsmanship and community service, Rooftop Relief's gesture serves as a reminder of the importance of recognizing and honoring the sacrifices of military veterans. This act of generosity not only protects Townsley's property but also strengthens the community's commitment to those who have served.
